Description

This position will be responsible for solicitation of new accounts, while maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing accounts in accordance with both Shangri-La Resort and Crescent Hotel standards. The beautiful and inspiring Shangri-La Resort is seeking an Audio-Visual Technician for this very busy and highly rated destination resort. This iconic resort features amazing food, golf, marina, and a guest experience which is legendary.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Extensive knowledge of previous audio visual, live event services, and setup experience. Self-starting personality with an even disposition as well as being a team player. Thorough knowledge of products, proper preparation, presentation, and a creative approach when presented with challenges. Needs to be able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing accounts, working with all banquets, and catering clients with a positive outcome resulting in high levels of customer satisfaction and profitability, answering questions, and troubleshooting problems. Motivate & inspire daily. Responsible for creating a collaborative, positive environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Setup of audio-visual equipment, according to BEO specifications.
  • Ensures on-time AV setup and recovery for all resort events.
  • Assists and is accessible to guests/members and communicates well with all departments throughout the resort.
  • Maintains an organized, clean, safe work environment.
  • Is active in preventative maintenance around the resort.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Excellent etiquette, guest relations and service standards. Strong interpersonal skills to assess client needs, negotiate pricing and provide overall guest satisfaction. Effectively deal with internal and external guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy. Presents a professional appearance and manner. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player. Will need to be proficient in reading, speaking, and writing English. Excellent oral and written skills are needed. Needs to have a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Work Habits: To maintain a positive guest and associate experience, your work habits should always meet and strive to exceed hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, punctuality, and attendance. You should be adaptable to change in your work area and in hotel procedures with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones, can solve routine problems that occur on the job and ask for help whenever you are not sure how to do something.

Safety & Security: The safety and security of our guests and associates is of utmost importance to Crescent. Every Crescent associate should adhere to the hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
