BASIC FUNCTION: The Irrigation Technician specializes in the maintenance of the irrigation system. Responsibilities include the operation, service, and repair of the irrigation system and/or its related components. The Irrigation Technician supports the overall maintenance effort when not directly involved with the management of the irrigation system.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

Must have High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED).
Three years of experience in grounds maintenance preferred.
Must possess organizational skills.
Must have basic computer knowledge.
Must be able to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Operates, maintains, and repairs a complex irrigation system, including leaks in distribution lines, valves, and risers.
Repairs control lines and sprinkler heads.
Repairs and maintains the master computer and satellite controllers, updating the necessary software as needed.
Operates, maintains, and services the irrigation wells and pump station.
Plans and devises watering time tables.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining a preventative maintenance program for all systems.
Performs weekly scheduled visual inspections of the system to ensure components are operating properly.
Assists in the IPM chemical and fertilization program.
Assists with routine maintenance duties whenever possible.
Supports other departments whenever possible through direct or indirect support.
Maintains confidentiality of company information.
Enforces all policies and guidelines laid out by the company.
Maintains a daily irrigation log of events and personal job log to be reviewed by appropriate management on a weekly basis.
Provides guest service to the level of results in the targeted rate.
Performs other related reasonable duties capable of being performed as requested by Management.
