Summary Description

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for administering human resources policies and procedures that cover multiple functional areas.

Essential Job Functions/Duties  

Essential duties and tasks that must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Collect and analyze HR data, and then makes recommendations to management.
  • Process paperwork for functional area according to established procedures.
  • Prepare internal employee communications regarding compensation, benefits, or company policies.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are relevant and up to date.
  • Provide advice, assistance and follow-up on company policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Facilitate the implementation of systems, programs, tools and processes designed to improve management and employee performance, productivity, engagement and business results.
  • Maintain Human Resource Information System records with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist with the administration of compensation, leaves and benefit plans.
  • Administer and explain benefits to employees, serve as liaison between employees and insurance carriers.
  • Meet with departments to gain a better understanding of the essential job duties as necessary.
  • Creates reports, utilizes the HRIS and assists with systems maintenance.
  • Provides administrative support and attends periodic meetings and training sessions.
  • Conduct safety and employee relations investigations and present findings as appropriate.
  • Support in performance management processes including 90-day orientations, annual performance review process and Personal Development Plans
  • Facilitate onboarding process including Manage pre-hire process (Background, Drug and Reference Checking), working with Compliance to obtain security clearance, working with the hiring manager to determine appropriate start date and on-boarding process is developed in advance; and preparing final offer and all ancillary documentation that is applicable to the role and corresponding offer.
  • Conduct exit interviews and provide summary to Department Heads and analyze exit interview trends and provide reports to HR Management.
  • Works with safety as a priority and follows department and company safety standards.
  • Maintains relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
    Job Specifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Three (3) years of HR experience including talent acquisition, HR administration, employee performance management and one (1) year of HCMS utilization including compliance reporting OR combination of the above mentioned.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software; HCMS, ATS and benefit portals. Ceridian and iCIMS preferred.
  • Demonstrated outstanding organizational, planning, project management and leadership skills.
  • Working knowledge of company internal controls and Policies and Procedures.

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Travel is not required for this position.

    WORK HOURS: Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Team members must be able to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.

    CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Is this position responsible for selling, serving, or distributing alcoholic beverages? No

    Does this position have comp authority? No

    Ability to secure and maintain a Level 3 NE Gaming License required.

    Other Certifications? Applicable professional certification preferred.

    WarHorse Sportsbook Omaha

    WarHorse Gaming is a division of Ho-Chunk, Inc., the award-winning economic development corporation of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska. WarHorse Gaming operates the WarHorse Casino in Lincoln (now open) as well as the WarHorse Casino, in Omaha. Both are in partnership with the Nebraska Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association (HBPA). WarHorse Gaming will also operate WarHorse Casino in South Sioux City (opening TBD).

    WarHorse Sportsbook Omaha currently features simulcast racing, and in-person sports betting.

    WarHorse Omaha is excited to share our latest construction updates! Our high-end casino and simulcast facility is on track to open Summer 2024 at Horsemen’s Park, 6303 Q Street. The former Horsemen’s Park building has undergone major upgrades and will continue to develop after casino operations begin.

    In the new space, guests will enjoy 800 slots, 20 table games and a fully updated simulcast experience. A new restaurant and center bar will also be open, creating the perfect destination for date nights and group parties.
