Function

The Director of Security is responsible and accountable for the overall operation of the Security department. Ensures the physical security and safety aspects of the property. Implements programs to safeguard the welfare and assets of all guests, Team Members and areas of operation.

Specific Duties And Responsibilities
  • Develops and manages the budget for Security.
  • Manages the overall performance of the Security department. Provide protection and safety to guests and Team Members.
  • Assist in the development of Team Members, conducts interviews, and participates in the selection, hiring, coaching, retention, and termination process.
  • Review staffing levels to maintain budgeted levels of employment. Delegate authority and assign responsibilities.
  • Meet with departmental directors and managers as necessary.
  • Establishing and maintaining working relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to include community involvement.
  • Manages property emergency and disaster plan.
  • Manages program to deny under age people access to gaming areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Standards Of Performance
  • Management abilities demonstrated in managing the security department.
  • Maintaining interpersonal working relationship among all personnel.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, local government, and gaming laws. Innkeeper Laws, ABC control regulation, OSHA and Health Department regulations.
  • Public relations and customer service skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to assume overall responsibility relative to the performance of the department, work flexible hours and handle high-pressure deadlines.
Education, Tr AI Ning, And Experience
  • Four to seven years’ experience in security in investigations, surveillance, and patron/property liability of high volume business or industry.
  • 4- year degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Able to obtain a valid Racing License.
