The Opportunity 

Delaware North Travel and Hospitality is hiring a Retail Buyer to join our team at Minneapolis Airport in Saint Paul, Minnesota. As a Retail Buyer, you will be the purchasing agent in support of procuring the highest quality of goods at the best possible rate. We are seeking an individual who flourishes in a fast paced setting who will elevate the performance of the department while providing exemplary service to our customers.

Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $49300 - $64100 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. Responsibilities 

  • Procuring goods and services for the operation of the airport
  • Product selection and development from inception to delivery, recommending purchases and inventory levels based on consumer and market trends, sales strategies and financial goals
  • Utilizes reporting tools to review inventory, sales, and status of each item in assigned merchandise categories
  • Creates purchase orders taking into consideration the need to control the inventory investment while maintaining sufficient inventory to support the sales objectives
  • Recommends pricing, sales strategies, and assortments to be reviewed
  • Recommends liquidation strategies as needed
  • Development of promotional activities for key product collections and communicate with General Manager and Assistant General Manager to ensure sale through
  • Involvement in client relations and vendor meetings when applicable
  • Collaborate with retail team on product ideas and development
  • Inventory management and allocation process
  • Special projects as directed by upper management

Qualifications 

  • At least 3 years of purchasing experience in a retail setting
  • Prior experience with apparel is required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relatable discipline a plus
  • Strong technical skills with prior exposure to procurement software
  • Ability to build strong foundational relationships with vendors and internal cross functional teams
