We're seeking a Area Director of Revenue to lead commercial performance across our Moxy platform. This role goes far beyond traditional revenue management. You'll be a strategic business partner responsible for maximizing revenue, market share, profitability, and brand positioning across multiple lifestyle hotels with a strong ownership group.
You will collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Digital, and Ownership teams to create innovative strategies that drive total hotel revenue while maintaining the unique personality and culture that make Moxy successful.
Position Overview
The Area Director of Revenue is responsible for developing and executing revenue optimization strategies across the Moxy hotel platform. This leader will oversee pricing, forecasting, distribution, inventory management, demand generation alignment, and commercial analytics to maximize RevPAR, ADR, occupancy, and total revenue performance.
Success in this role requires a blend of analytical expertise, market intelligence, digital fluency, and creative commercial thinking. The ideal candidate understands that lifestyle hotels require a different approach than traditional brands and can balance revenue optimization with guest experience, market positioning, and brand integrity.
What You'll Own
Revenue Strategy & Optimization
- Develop and execute revenue strategies for assigned Moxy properties to maximize profitability and market share.
- Establish dynamic pricing, inventory controls, and yield strategies across all demand segments.
- Analyze market trends, booking patterns, competitive positioning, and demand drivers to identify revenue opportunities.
- Lead weekly, monthly, and quarterly revenue reviews with hotel leadership teams.
- Optimize transient, group, wholesale, negotiated, and promotional business mix.
- Develop and execute sell-out and compression strategies during high-demand periods.
Forecasting & Business Planning
- Produce accurate short-term and long-term demand forecasts.
- Lead annual budgeting and reforecasting processes in partnership with Finance and Operations.
- Analyze pace, pickup, segmentation trends, and booking window performance.
- Create action plans to address revenue gaps and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
- Provide ownership and executive teams with performance analysis and strategic recommendations.
Distribution & E-Commerce Leadership
- Manage all distribution channels including Marriott systems, direct channels, OTAs, GDS, and third-party partners.
- Ensure rate integrity and inventory accuracy across all booking channels.
- Evaluate channel performance and optimize distribution costs and profitability.
- Partner with Digital Marketing teams to align pricing strategies with promotional campaigns and demand-generation initiatives.
- Identify new revenue opportunities through emerging distribution channels and technology solutions.
Commercial Collaboration
- Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations leaders to develop integrated commercial strategies.
- Establish group displacement guidelines and optimize group acceptance decisions.
- Support sales teams with pricing recommendations, group evaluations, and account strategy.
- Collaborate on citywide events, entertainment programming, partnerships, and experiential revenue opportunities unique to the Moxy brand.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to General Managers and ownership groups.
Market Intelligence & Competitive Positioning
- Maintain deep knowledge of local market dynamics, demand generators, events, and competitive activity.
- Analyze STR reports, market share trends, and competitive set performance.
- Conduct regular hotel and competitive market visits to evaluate positioning and identify opportunities.
- Provide actionable insights on pricing, product positioning, and commercial strategy.
Leadership & Culture
- Champion a high-performance, data-driven revenue culture across the Moxy platform.
- Mentor and support property-level commercial leaders.
- Drive adoption of best practices, systems, and revenue management disciplines.
- Foster collaboration across all commercial functions to achieve portfolio-wide goals.

Required Experience
- 5+ years of progressive hotel revenue management experience.
- Multi-property or regional revenue management experience preferred.
- 400+ Single Hotel Key Count Experience in T1 City preferred.
- Experience within Marriott systems and distribution platforms strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success managing lifestyle, urban, or premium-branded hotels.
- Strong understanding of forecasting, pricing, inventory management, and market analysis.
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
Technical Expertise
- Advanced knowledge of:
- Marriott Revenue Management Systems
- GDS and CRS platforms
- OTA distribution channels
- STR reporting
- Microsoft Excel and data analytics tools
- Experience with business intelligence and reporting platforms preferred.
