Required Certifications:

  • Minimum age requirement – 16+
  • Food Handler’s Certificate
  • Encourage OSHA Hazard Communication Standard training and certification.


Maintains sanitation and cleanliness of the restaurant/bar and counter areas. Also maintains adequate food items and service supplies and resets table in dining areas.

General Duties:

  • Neat appearance with proper clean uniform.
  • Replenish and maintain adequate service supplies and utensils to include, but not limited to:
    • China - proper plates in proper area
    • Glasses - water, iced tea, juice, sodas
    • Coffee mugs or cup and saucers
    • Silverware (cutlery)
  • Replenish and maintain adequate food items and beverages.
  • Actively promote accident prevention by keeping all areas swept and clean, always.
  • All counters and shelves cleaned and polished daily.
  • All machines cleaned and sanitized.
  • All refrigerators and reach-ins cleaned.
  • All drains cleaned.
  • Heat strips and service window cleaned.
  • Floor swept and mopped on aisle, hot side, and cold side.
  • Complete food storeroom requisition and store all items in their proper place.
  • Empty all trash cans.
  • Perform extra cleaning, as necessary, and as delegated by the lead utility person.
  • Perform all other duties, as directed by management.
  • Clean up all spills at once, being sure always to use wet floor sign when mopping.
  • Ensure floors are mopped one half at a time, leaving a dry walking floor for associates to use.
  • Be certain to mix cleaning chemicals properly, always using the proper chemical for the proper job.
  • Be sure to practice proper lifting techniques in removing trash cans and other heavy objects. Seek help, if necessary. Learn to use equipment properly.
  • Be aware of heat and steam in dish machine area to avoid possible burns.

Employment Standards:

  • Neat in appearance and well groomed.
  • Maintain proper associate uniform standards and footwear which is slip resistant, enclosed toe and heel.
  • Able to work with little supervision.
  • Able to life heavy objects.
  • Friendly disposition and well mannered.
  • Must be punctual.
  • Must be able to communicate in English well enough to understand schedules and cleaning checklists.
  • Must be organized.
  • Must be able to work quickly.
  • NOTICE: The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day. All associates must realize this fact and be aware that, at all times, it may be necessary to move an associate from their accustomed shift, as business demands. In addition, this is a hospitality business, and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.

  • Must have the physical strength, stamina, and agility to perform the assigned duties.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift and carry for long periods of time.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report work-related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager/supervisor.
  • Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
  • Requires problem solving abilities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and environmentally responsible work environment.
  • Must be able to interact with co-workers and have a sense of TEAM.
