Assistant Maintenance Mechanic

AGE REQUIREMENT: 18 years or older

Position Summary: Responsible for performing required maintenance on all Isleta Golf Club equipment and machinery.

Isleta Resort and Casino Guest Service Agreement

All Team Members will display 100% commitment to World Class Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of Guest Service Standards established by the Isleta Resort and Casino.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class. 1. Assists with records of daily and monthly maintenance schedule to capture changing filters, fluids, and hoses to ensure adherence to manufacturer’s recommend maintenance and instructions and notes when warranty is about to expire.
2. Records, maintains, and stores warranty information and serial numbers for all tools, equipment, and machinery.
3. Assist Management with inspections, and repair mechanical defects/failures in various grounds maintenance equipment including diesel, electric, and gasoline powered utility vehicles, mowers, trucks, trenchers, tractors, oil changes, tire repairs, and all other mechanical equipment used by staff performing the maintenance work.
4. Trains operators on the routine equipment maintenance.
5. Assists mechanic in the continuation workers regarding preventative maintenance, and the proper cleaning of and safe operation of equipment.
6. May be assigned to drive company vehicle on public roads, to and from Isleta Pueblo properties, and/or other destinations, during shift.
7. Occasionally performs other duties as assigned, such as basic golf course/landscape maintenance practices when needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Proficiency in following instructions and incorporating feedback effectively.
2. Capability of comprehending and utilizing service manuals proficiently.
3. Possession of personal tools is preferred to preform job functions.
4. Exhibit competency in operating Microsoft and TRIMS applications and software at a moderate level.
5. Proven ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure with minimal supervision.
6. Possess strong organizational and time management abilities.
7. Working knowledge of reel/bed knife grinding and maintenance.
8. Working knowledge of fluid hydraulics, automotive electronics, gas and arc welding, fabrication of specialty tools, gas, and diesel engines.
9. Effective communication skills, with the capacity to convey information professionally.
10. Familiarity with the safe operation of tools, power tools, and groundskeeping equipment.
11. Understanding and knowledge of the game of golf.
12. Proficiency in basic mathematics.

Education and Experience:

1. High school diploma or GED preferred.
2. A minimum of two years of mechanical experience on all types of equipment and vehicles required.
3. Have working knowledge of all daily maintenance and course preparation.

Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification

1. Must acquire and maintain a Gaming License.
2. Pass pre-employment drug test and background investigation.
3. Must maintain all Isleta Resort and Casino-wide educational and certification requirements.
4. Flexible work schedule, willingness to work any days/hours as needed.
5. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico driver’s license. Should not have had a driver’s license revoked or suspended in the last three (3) years prior to the date of the employment application. Driving records will be checked.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

1. Must be able lift, move, and place 50 pounds with assistance.
2. Must be able to perform twist, bend, pull, push, and crawl regular.
3. Must be able to work in confined areas.

Working Conditions:

Typically, duties are carried out within the dynamic environment of an outdoor golf course, where individuals are exposed to diverse weather conditions ranging from intense heat to cold temperatures, accompanied by winds, rain, hail, and snow. There is also moderate exposure to unconventional elements like dust, dirt, fumes, smoke, and unpleasant odors, as well as loud noises. Additionally, there is a potential for encountering hazardous materials such as binding agents for plastic pipe, Blood Borne Pathogens, and various tools, which, if mishandled, could pose risks of bodily harm. Occasionally, interactions with confrontational or irate guests may occur.
