Our Finance Shared Services Office manages financial activities of our Managed Hotels in Mexico.

What will I be doing?

As the Tax Leader, youwill manage all Federal and Local tax compliance in our Managed Hotels in Mexico. You will manage the Hotels’ tax compliance, tax planning, and accounting for sales and income taxes. You will partner with businesses, service providers, and other tax professionals. You will work with our internal financial management team and third-party service providers.

• Oversee the accurate filing of federal and state sales and income taxes including all related analysis and support
• Ensure the compliance of local tax requirements, including the review and preparation of tax returns and coordination with external consultants
• Responsible for audits of federal and state tax. Manage tax disputes and resolutions with close collaboration with finance teams
• Assist with research and implementation of tax processes and make appropriate recommendations from a tax perspective. This includes partnering with stakeholders.
• Identify tax digitalization and automate tax processes (e.g. electronic invoices)
• Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team, and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation
• Supervise a team of six (2 supervisors would report directly to this position)
• Ensure that appropriate internal controls are in place over Mexican taxes

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

• 8 years minimum of related work experience. (Example: Accounting, Tax, Finance)
• 4 years minimum of experience in Leadership and Team Management
• Work a hybrid office schedule based in our office in Mexico City, Mexico a minimum of 3 days per week.

It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

• Spanish and English fluency (oral and written)
• Master's degree in taxation or accounting
• Prior work experience in Tax Accounting for hospitality/travel industry experience
