The Ideal Candidate for this Position
The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills and enjoy interacting with guests and fellow employees. Someone with a very positive, outgoing, and friendly personality is a perfect fit!
Responsibilities for this Position
- Checks guests in, ensuring proper credit is received, special requests are noted and fulfilled, and accurate information is established.
- Completes all guest transactions thoroughly.
- Promotes and sells special hotel programs.
- Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information.
- Must be knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and resort policies.
- Maintains house bank.
- Communicates all pertinent information to the front office managers and supervisors.
- Follows set procedures on posting, charges, cashing checks, safe deposits and refunds.
- Solicits guest feedback via guest comment cards.
- Cross-trains in PBX, concierge, and bell podium coverage.
- Performs other duties as reasonably requested by management.
Requirements
- Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Must have basic knowledge of computers.
- Pleasant telephone demeanor.
- Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Must have ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
- Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
- Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
Technical Requirements
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Requires strong organizational skills.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Able to be on your feet for long periods of time.

By the mid-1990s, French Lick Spring Hotel, although still in operation, was a mere shell of its former glory and the abandoned West Baden Springs Hotel was literally crumbling to the ground. As with any great comeback story, it all started with people who refused to give up – local volunteers and the folks at Indiana Landmarks. Seeing West Baden Springs Hotel in a state of ruin devastated the group, whose mission is saving such cherished properties. Soon the Cook family, devoted preservationists who themselves led the restoration of many Indiana buildings, joined the cause and committed more than $600 million dollars to not only save West Baden Springs Hotel but also French Lick Springs Hotel. The Cooks wanted their preservation work to result in living, breathing historic places that would be around for centuries to come. Today, 1.1 million guests visit French Lick Resort annually to experience this “save of the century.”
