Function
The Front Desk Agent registers and assigns rooms, issue room keys, transmit and receive messages, keeping records of occupied rooms and guests’ accounts, presenting statements to and collecting payments from departing guests, making and confirming reservations, answering PBX calls and connecting callers to the appropriate extension, collecting guest player club information while making marketing room reservations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greeting, registering, and assigning rooms to hotel guests
- Verifying guest identification and establishing how the guest will pay for their accommodations
- Issuing room keys and relay instructions to bellhops
- Keeping records of room availability and guests’ accounts on computer
- Computing bills and collecting payments in Visual One
- Making and confirming reservations
- Answering PBX calls and routing calls to proper extensions
- Answering inquiries pertaining to hotel services, shopping, dining, entertainment and any other activity connected with the hotel, casino, or entertainment complex
- Advising housekeeping staff when rooms have been vacated and are ready for cleaning
- Contacting housekeeping or maintenance staff when guests report problems
- Performing simple bookkeeping activities, such as balancing cash accounts
- Recording guest comments or complaints, referring guest to supervisor if needed
- Performing other duties as assigned

Derby City Gaming is located on Poplar Level Rd. in Louisville, Kentucky. It is the only licensed gaming facility in the state. The 85,000 square foot, $65 million-dollar facility features over 1,200 historical racing machines, with 70+ themes, on the 45,000 square foot gaming and entertainment floor. The Center Sports Bar is a horse racing simulcast wagering area with seating for 50, where players watch all the big games on fourteen 85’’ TV's, enjoy live bands on stage, as well as craft beers and specialty cocktails.
