Job Summary


Marriott International has an opening for Director, Contract Management, Global Technology (Telecom).  As a director, you will support the Global Technology Business in developing and executing effective contracting strategies for a technology category with a focus on telecom contracts such as wireless, wired line, Internet Service Providers, PBX contracts, Cloud PBX and other network and telecom hardware, software and services. You will also ensure contract compliance and reporting, in alignment with legal requirements and Marriott policies.

You will have the opportunity to work with various technology partners and stakeholders, and to draft, negotiate, and execute complex agreements. The Director partners with the technology discipline leaders on all aspects of the company’s contractual agreement(s) with telecommunications suppliers, including drafting, negotiating, and executing complex telecom and network agreements. 
You will also manage the entire contracting lifecycle from RFx/competitive bid process through contract negotiations, execution, dispute resolution, benchmarking analysis, and renewals and terminations. Collaborating with Global Technology business partners, financial managers, and the Vendors and using your extensive knowledge of commercial telecom contracts will be required as you deliver optimal outcomes for Marriott functioning as the contracts’ subject matter expert in managing large complex Telecom Agreements.

Education And Experience 



Required


  •    8+ years of complex Contract Management and Sourcing within the technology and telecom space
  •    3+ years of telecommunications contract experience 
  •    Undergraduate degree 
  •    Familiarity with the procurement of technology products, services, telecom and network connectivity
  •    Fluency with MS Office technology, including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  •    People Manager Experience

  •    MBA in Finance/ Accounting or related graduate degree
  •    Demonstrated knowledge and mastery of Telecommunications contracts, deep knowledge of doing business with Major Telco communications providers

  •    Contracts for technology products and services in accordance with Marriott standards to protect Marriott’s interests and get the best value for the company including leading contract negotiations (both legal contract language and pricing), developing negotiating strategies through collaboration with product owners and stakeholders, aligning internal stakeholders on requirements and negotiation positions, setting expectations with all stakeholders, drafting contract language in accordance with Marriott policies and standards, and coordinating and scheduling meetings.
  •    Leads RFx/competitive bid processes where needed for technology products and services in accordance with Marriott policies.
  •    Research, benchmark and analyze pricing against the market and develop negotiation strategies in collaboration with stakeholders to close any gaps between existing and market-leading pricing.
  •    Tracks status and milestones of projects within Marriott’s Global Technology contract management system.
  •    Serves and business advisor for technology leaders in crafting and executing telecom procurement strategies
  •    Collaborates with key stakeholder groups to ensure process-related activities address company needs.
  •    Guards and owns the integrity of the pricing schedules and mechanisms and ensure they are fit for purpose and pricing is aligned with the terms of the agreement.
  •    Collaborates with Legal, Service Management, Service Delivery and Finance to maintain a thorough knowledge of all aspects of contracts. 
  •    Modifies contracts as needed. 
  •    Manages issues related to the contract and assists in interpreting the contract as needed. Resolves escalated issues and facilitates dispute resolutions with providers, as needed
  •    Demonstrates thorough understanding of major outsource agreements, including negotiating Fixed Price SOWs on large outsourcing agreements 
  •    Solves problems and applies analytical skills with regard to detailed Service Provider pricing models and related analysis. 
  •    Excellent creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative, out-of-the-box solutions to solve complex contractual problems against the backdrop of driving cost savings

  •    Ability to manage several complex RFP’s/RFX’s simultaneously while managing day to day contracting workload. (deal volume of 25-30 transaction documents at any one time).
  •    Demonstrated experience in developing and executing negotiations strategy.
  •    Manages negotiations for amendments, contract interpretations, new services and any other issues requiring contractual resolution.
