Summary of Position: 

The Senior Accountant supports the financial leadership team in auditing transactions, reconciling Balance Sheet accounts, completing clearing entries and updating Blackline documentation on a monthly basis for Arizona Grand Resort and other Marc and Rose Hospitality properties as assigned, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Uniform System of Accounts for Hospitality.

Essential Functions:

  • Timely and accurate completion of all Balance Sheet account reconciliations, transaction auditing, research, clearing entries, updating Blackline documentation and external audit preparation for all assigned Marc and Rose properties on a monthly basis, interacting with and supporting other members of the Finance team as required.  (85%)
  • Assist and support the financial leadership team with fiscal closing responsibilities on a monthly basis as directed.  (15%)

Supportive Functions:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be requested to perform various accounting functions, temporarily fill other accounting roles and assist in completing special projects, with the percentage of time to be determined based on situational requirements.

Qualification Standards:

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Accounting

Experience: Must have 3-5 years’ experience in business accounting, preferably within the hospitality industry.

Certificates or Licenses: None

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong technical knowledge of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions.
  • Ability to utilize computer software and hardware required.  Proficient with Excel, experience with Sage accounting software or comparable platform.
  • Must be team-oriented and professionally interactive with financial peers and associates in other disciplines.
  • Excellent in verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to listen, effectively accomplish task, and speak clearly.
