The Opportunity 

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is looking for a Hospitality Intern to work at Peaks of Otter Lodge in Bedford, Virginia. The Hospitality Intern will rotate departments within Peaks of Otter Lodge to gain knowledge and experience in Front Office, Food and Beverage and Housekeeping.

Responsibilities 

  • Provide excellent customer service to greet and register guests in centralized registration system.
  • Handle cash and credit card transactions; maintain bank and accurate paperwork.
  • Deliver items to guests, resolve guest issues and complaints or elevate to supervisor.
  • Coordinate guest and room needs with housekeeping department.
  • Check and balance daily figures, post room and tax charges on guest accounts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work in different departments at unit and completely tasks as needed.

Qualifications 

  • Must be currently pursuing a degree.
  • Exhibit a professional, approachable, client service-oriented demeanor.
  • Passion for teamwork, and focus on high-level client service.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; present ideas clearly and concisely.

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to stand and walk entirety of shift. 
  • Will bend, twist, crouch, push, pull, grasp items, and climb stairs throughout shift.
  • Occasional lifting up to 30 pounds.
