Position Title: Marketing Manager

ob Summary:

Working with the Hotel’s Director of Sales & Marketing and various Department Heads with executing marketing strategies in partnership with appropriate corporate team members to assist in achieving revenue growth goals. The position acts as a liaison between the hotel and corporate office marketing support, outside agencies and contracted vendors/service providers as determined by the hotel Director of Sales & Marketing. Practices overall project management and ensures the implementation of comprehensive marketing programs and eCommerce. Requires extensive and regular interaction with hotel's Director of Sales & Marketing as the strategic leader.

The position is responsible for developing communications content and input from various channels, to include by not-limited to: website, email marketing, social channels, and advertising. Develops on-property brochures, on-property offers, guest communications marketing materials, and other hotel/destination content featured in the mobile applications. Hosts, coordinates, and supports on-site media visits, and on-site photo shoots. Creates and executes innovative publicity programs that will increase revenue and awareness, creating a positive perception of the hotel, its restaurants, Spa, and services.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Develops annual Communications plan in tandem with Director, Sales & Marketing which is to serve as an integral part of the hotel’s marketing plan.
  • Acts as a local area knowledge expert for the hotel and the destination.
  • Provides on-property support to Field Marketing, Field Ecommerce and Market Director of Public Relations in coordination with Director of Sales and Marketing (DOSM), and other management staff.
  • Creates and executes innovative publicity programs that will increase revenue and awareness, creating a positive perception of the hotel, its restaurants, Spa, services.
  • Programs should address specific needs as outlined in the marketing plan and capitalize on unexpected opportunities as they arise.
  • Reviews content to ensure that all hotel promotions are in keeping with the brand image and reflect the highest level of professionalism in content and presentation.
  • Shares relevant information to help others understand and support business objectives.
  • On property liason for social media agency with review and content contribution.
  • Communicates with Corporate Team and Field/Marketing leaders in the region on a regular basis, keep them abreast of news and mutually-beneficial opportunities.
  • Maintains professional relationships with local media and gains cooperation and respect to earn a reputation as a source of reliable, newsworthy information. Conducting Communication Activities that Achieve Department Goals
  • Develops communication content and input for various channels to include, but not limited to: website, email marketing, social channels, advertising.
  • Manages property website content and quality.
  • Guides departments on proper use of corporate identity on printed, promotional and display materials.
  • Informs team of planned events and developments that could be of Communications value.
  • Reviews content to ensure that media kits and other Public Relations related material originating from hotel is appropriate, error-free and complements the brand.
  • Supports the hotel’s business objectives by designing and executing relevant press trips and individual visits.
  • Evaluates the success of communications efforts on a regular basis.
  • Shares learning’s, innovations, and best practices with others.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn from others.
  • Website Optimization
  • Maintaining and updating websites as needed using appropriate brand tools.
  • Updating and auditing photos and online listings.
  • Creating & coordinating content when needed.
  • Regular Audit of hotel presence on OTA’s to include but not limited to Expedia, Orbitz, Priceline, Booking.com & Kayak for Imagery, basic descriptive content, amenities, room types; star ratings & map placement.
  • Working closely with the Director of eCommerce, Regional & hotel based teams in establishing and maintaining strategies for online success
  • Identify new marketing channels and opportunities that will deliver maximum exposure to consumers looking to travel into the market.
  • Running reports and analyzing online statistics.
  • Communicating efforts and results to the field and to senior leadership. Assisting with Advertising and Promotions
  • Assisting in coordinating all electronic marketing efforts: electronic direct mail, banner ads, etc.
  • Generate awareness of hotels and outlets through various social media outlets.
  • Creative thinking in developing marketing initiatives and strategies to drive revenue through all channels for need periods.

Shift: Flexible

Day(s) Required: FLEXIBLE including Holidays and Weekends, if needed

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED; 4 years’ experience in the communications, ecommerce, sales and marketing or related professional area. OR
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related major; 2 years’ experience in the communications, ecommerce, sales and marketing or professional area. Experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop programs, and various website updating tools

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit at desk, walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel or crouch.
  • Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, multi-line touch tone telephones, filing cabinets, facsimile machines, photocopiers, dollies and other office equipment as needed.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Specific hearing abilities include ability to hear and understand spoken word in person, on the telephone and/or on the computer.
