Job Description

The Director of Catering and Conference will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, enhancing client relationships, and ensuring the seamless execution of catering and conference events. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing, this role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of catering and conference operations, including sales, event planning, client management, and team leadership. The successful candidate will possess a strong blend of strategic vision, operational expertise, and customer-focused leadership.

Job Duties:

  • Directs the daily activities of the catering & conference team. Mentors, coaches and provides support on larger and/or more complex accounts.
  • Makes sales calls, schedules in-person appointments and conducts hotel site tours to secure business.
  • Achieving monthly top line revenue goals
  • Proactively selling the hotel through face-to-face appointments with customers, tele-prospecting, etc
  • Gains contacts and business intelligence and shows community spirit through involvement in appropriate organizations. 
  • Maintains awareness of the catering sales practices of the hotel's competitive set and is a "product expert" when selling against them. 
  • Participates in sales blitzes and utilizes available business tools to prospect for new business.
  • Ensures that he/she adheres to all administrative processes that are in place including preparation and submission of reports or internal communications and meets deadlines. 
  • Builds strong relationships and loyalty with top producing clients and maintains professional integrity
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial targets for catering and conference operations
  • Monitor revenue performance, expenses, and profitability, implementing strategies to optimize financial results and achieve business objectives

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, hotel & restaurant management, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years luxury hotel catering & conference experience
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices in catering and conference services
  • Delphi knowledge
