Definition: 

The Pool Supervisor is responsible for the operations of the entire swimming pool complex and the overall safety of those who use the facility. Maintains facilities by cleaning, washing, and vacuuming pools, conducting water quality tests, inspecting equipment, reporting deficiencies, and adding chemicals as needed. Coordinates in facility programming, maintaining, and ordering supplies.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of general administrative and first-line supervisory duties to organize and coordinate the day-to-day safety, maintenance, and operations.
  • Opens, closes, and secures assigned facility as directed.
  • Supervise and develop all pool personnel to ensure staff is well trained thereby creating a safe environment for those who use facility.
  • Ensure that pool the facility is always in a safe environment and conduct in-service training drills bi-monthly to maintain safety standards.
  • Ensure high quality of cleanliness and maintenance for all pools and spas and equipment.
  • Clean and sanitize swimming pool (includes cleaning pool backwash, filters, skimming pool surfaces, vacuuming and checking that chemicals in pool are at ideal levels).
  • Ensure that all equipment (i.e., railings, surfaces, pumps, heater, etc.) are in good working order, and provide repair/replacement as needed.
  • Procure chemicals, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Ensure safety by communicating and enforcing pool procedures.
  • Check for hazardous conditions and ensure proper safety equipment is available.
  • Report all problems, including disciplinary, to Engineering DOE or Assistant DOE.
  • Maintain accurate records, including pool chemical readings and supplies.
  • Follow and record proper cleaning procedures to maintain a clean environment.
  • May wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
  • Provide suggestions to improve or repair pool equipment.
  • Drives and/or operates a company vehicle or equipment and must obey all safety policies, and roadway rules and laws.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Required Certifications:

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent.
  • CPO Certified preferred.
  • Pool maintenance experience required.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

  • Must have the physical strength, stamina and agility to perform the assigned duties.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, squat, bend, and stretch for long periods of time.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager/supervisor.
  • Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to manager.
  • Requires problem solving abilities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and environmentally responsible work environment.
  • Must be able to interact with co-workers and have a sense of TEAM.
