The Opportunity 

Delaware North is hiring a Senior Benefits Manager to join our team in Buffalo, New York. As a Senior Benefits Manager, you will be responsible for the overall administration and compliance of all benefits programs for non-union and union team members. Buffalo-based candidates can work a hybrid schedule, including a minimum of three days per week in the office. Candidates in Cleveland, Erie, Rochester, or a reasonable driving distance are welcome to apply. The requirement will be to work on-site in Buffalo, NY at least one day a month.

Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $95900 - $129400 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. Responsibilities 

  • Benefits program design (e.g., health and welfare, retirement etc.) for both US and Canadian programs.
  • Benefits program management (e.g., open enrollment, health and welfare, retirement, relocation, commuter, etc.).
  • Benefits program administration (e.g., processes, billing, deductions, leaves, etc.).
  • Benefits program compliance (e.g., union collective bargaining agreements, affordable care act, required notices).
  • Analyze current benefit programs against industry norms and trends.
  • Monitor benefit costs, budgets, and pricing of benefit programs.
  • Responsible for data integrity, enrollments audits, and billing reconciliations.
  • Communication (e.g., guidance on benefit program features, plans, and options to employees and management).
  • Vendor management (e.g., insurance and pension brokers, consultants, etc.).

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, benefits administration, business, finance, or a related field required. 
  • Minimum of five 5 to six 6 years of experience in strategy and administration of benefits programs required, including wellness, 401k, etc.
  • Minimum three 3 to five 5 years in a benefits leadership role, with experience and managing teams is required.
  • Experience with unions is a plus
  • Vendor management experience required
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (proficiency with Excel is a must). 
  • Experience with HRIS and benefits platforms; working knowledge of Workday preferred.  
  • Advanced knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations relevant to health and welfare benefit plans a well as 401(k) retirement plans.  
  • Certified Benefits Professional, SHRM-CP, or SHRM SCP preferred.
