Compensation: $95,000 - $115,000 annually plus bonus, Full-Time

Overview

The Area Director of Business Travel will report to the Area Director of Sales and Marketing.  Primary responsibilities include soliciting accounts to produce individual corporate transient travel. Duties and expectations are included but not limited to the following areas:

Responsibilities

  • Proactively drive top-line revenue for transient sales segments, including volume transient & consortia for four NYC hotels.
  • Produce transient business revenue through directly soliciting national & local accounts via prospecting tools, internet & market knowledge, outside sales call presentations, webinar presentations, site inspections, developing locally negotiated relationships, executing locally negotiated contracts, negotiating and closing sales
  • Collaborate with the Area Director of Sales, Revenue Management, and VP of Sales to create a dynamic and static, seasonal, preferred Business Travel Rate Strategy.
  • Effectively manage the RFP process.
  • Evaluate trends within the assigned market, developing strategies to grow production and/or ADR.
  • Conduct monthly account prospecting and maintenance calls.
  • Implement direct sales activities, promotions, and on-site activations to achieve defined strategies.
  • Develop networking opportunities through active participation in the community, professional associations, activities, and events.

Qualifications

  • In-market experience in business travel at similar sizes and quality hotels to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Proficient in all BT Business Intelligence tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of market trends, competition, key customers in NYC, and key feeder markets.
  • Strong computer literacy with knowledge of Word, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Skills including Hilton Systems and Delphi helpful.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; passionate, strategic, and innovative.
  • Ability to sell to the C-Suite or managerial level buyers.
  • Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of information.

NOTE: For applicants working in NYC, the anticipated compensation range for the position is $95K to $115K per year. The salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors, including but not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc.
