Job Summary

Marriott has an exciting opportunity for a Director on the Corporate Systems team within the ESG domain. This role is part of a team owning technology and supporting Marriott’s critical enterprise applications. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven, leader to own and lead technologies that collect data, measure, and report on environmental, social and governance impact through solutions focused on accounting for climate change footprints (e.g., carbon accounting with additional impact areas like waste, water, and overall compliance planned for the future). In this role you will act as an ESG technology product owner and design technology solutions to accelerate delivery of ESG reporting requirements. Working with our global Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) team, finance personnel, and technology partners, you will have an amazing opportunity to elevate the way Marriott’s Corporate Systems team delivers world-class solutions that leverage Salesforce Net Zero Cloud and a wide variety of enterprise platforms and technologies combined with ESG subject matter expertise.

Candidate Profile

Education And Experience

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience with Salesforce.
  • Expert level understanding of the Salesforce product suite, specifically Net Zero Cloud, but ideally including Sales, Service, and/or Experience Cloud.
  • Understanding of systems architecture and ability to design scalable performance-driven solutions.
  • Understanding of key design patterns and large data volume limitations and best practices.
  • Understanding of data sharing and visibility considerations and how these play into platform architecture
  • Familiarity with platform authentication patterns (SAML, SSO, OAuth)
  • Knowledge of data integration tools and experience integrating Salesforce with different business systems (ETL, AppExchange managed packages, CRMA, etc.).
  • Understanding of environment management, release management, code versioning best practices, and deployment methodologies (DevOps).
  • Experience with platform security capabilities.
  • Background in design/development of large-scale system capabilities, or complete software product lifecycle exposure.
  • Experience with technology product ownership and delivery.
  • Experience leading teams to drive requirements across teams, plan work and deliver to agreed upon timelines.
  • Experience working with cross functional teams and leaders across multiple disciplines.
  • Experience managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Experience working in an integrated technology ecosystem.
  • Ability to review and manage usage, licensing, and costs with vendor platforms like Salesforce. 
  • Ability to learn modern technologies and adopt new technologies to streamline and simplify data transfer, data ingestion and  
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Production support experience.
  • Active Salesforce certifications (e.g. Net Zero Cloud Accredited Professional)
  • Bachelor of Science or Equivalent degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering

Delivering Technology

  • Own the ESG technology stack including strategy and roadmap for Salesforce Net Zero Cloud (NZC) and integrated ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with ESG stakeholders to define requirements, deliverables, and set and manage expectations.
  • Translate business requirements into well-architected solutions that best leverage the Salesforce NZC platform within Marriott’s architectural landscape.
  • Lead technical product design sessions; architect and document technical solutions aligned with Marriott business objectives for ESG; identify gaps between current and desired end-states.
  • Own and drive technology solution and governance of Salesforce NZC initiatives.
  • Manage the technical delivery of custom development, integrations, and data migration elements of a Salesforce NZC implementation.
  • Own and drive technology improvements for Salesforce NZC, and other technology systems including integrations that make up the consolidated solution.
  • Drive Net Zero Cloud and ESG reporting roadmap discussions with Salesforce to ensure we are able to deliver on corporate and regulatory ESG requirements.
  • Manage extended stakeholder expectations liaising across teams to identify opportunities for system efficiencies and improvements.
  • Plan, architect and design efficient automation and integrations across Salesforce and integrated platforms.
  • Ensure proper coordination with appropriate IT and vendor relations teams.
  • Escalate and manage platform and delivery issues with Salesforce and other technology vendors as needed.

  • Follows all defined IR standards and processes (i.e., IT Governance, SM&G, Architecture, etc.), and provides input for improvements to the appropriate process owners as needed.

Service Provider, Cots, And Custom Application Management

  • Lead prioritization meetings with stakeholders and drive resolution of changes through the process for portfolio of supported applications

  • Validates that Service Providers and internal teams develop and manage respective aspects of a project plan, including schedules, deliverables, and appropriate metrics.
