Essential Job Functions

The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.

• Stocking bar with ice, liquor, beer, wine, juices, mixes glassware, utensils, cocktail napkins, garnishes, etc
• Assist bartender in re-stocking and maintaining par levels of those items
• Check taps and appliances to confirm they are working properly
• General cleaning, wiping down surfaces, sweeping, mopping and emptying trash receptacles
• Possess full knowledge of food & beverage products served and utilize suggestive selling techniques
• Provide friendly, courteous service to guests and other staff members
• May be required to mix or pour drinks as needed
• Must be able to take orders, prepare drinks, buss tables, open tabs, and process payments especially during peak hours
• Other duties may be assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests and associates
• Scrupulously follow all Driftwood and resort policies and procedures
• Ability to attend required meetings
• Projects and assignments are completed thoroughly, professionally, and with care
• Adjusts to high-pressure conditions and is open to change
• Ability to manage time well with minimal supervision
• Assumes responsibility for personal growth and development
• Conducts him\herself (acts and dresses with complete, clean uniform) professionally at all times; sets standards for all associates
• Knowledge of all hotel departments and functions
• Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations
• Must have exceptional mathematical and computer skills
• High school education and relevant training and experience required
• Must have a valid drivers license

Physical Demands

• Must be able to tolerate working in outside heat & humidity
• Minimum lifting/pulling of 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques
• Pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity, continuous standing
• Hearing and writing ability
• Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time up to 8 hours

Age Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
