The scenic Hilton Waikoloa Village is looking for Bell/Valet Graveyard Attendant to join the Guest Service team.

62 acres of Hawaiian Paradise on Hawaii’s Big Island. Located on the sunny, scenic Kohala Coast, our oceanfront resort offers a taste of the island life full of culture, poolside relaxation, and a chance to meet marine wildlife up close.

Classification:  Full Time

Shifts:  Overnight

What will I be doing?

As a Graveyard Attendant, you will be responsible for assisting with Valet and luggage needs. Organize & lock all carts in Luggage Main & towers, organize all tuggers in Luggage Main & make sure all tuggers are fully charged, sweep & clean luggage area, confirm golf inventory is complete, wash & clean hotel vehicles (at least one a night , inside & out), make inventory of how many bell carts are in each tower. You will touch bases with the Night Manager on duty and assist as necessary. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Organize & lock all carts & tuggers in Luggage Main and towers; and make sure all tuggers are fully charged .
  • Grasps, lifts, carries and/or loads luggage and packages onto a bell cart to transport items throughout hotel to designated room.
  • Organizes and stores luggage as necessary in a designated area.
  • Wash and clean hotel vehicles.
  • Valet duties
  • Complete any other assignments issued by Management and/or Supervisors.

Requirements

What are we looking for?

EDUCATION

High School graduate or equivalent preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Prior guest service or other hospitality preferred.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

CPR certification and/or First Aid training preferred.

GROOMING

All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).

OTHER

Applicants with additional language skills preferred.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions.

  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information.

  • Ability to read English language sufficient to ascertain information from luggage tags and claim checks to write numbers and names on claim checks and rooming lists.

  • Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages, boxes and luggage up to 100 lbs. continuously throughout shift.

  • Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions.

  • Sufficient manual dexterity in one hand to be able to load and unload luggage.

  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling and walking significant distances on property.

Wage Range:  $19.86 to $22.07
