 Job Summary



As a member of the Finance Business Partnership (FBP) group for Customer, Revenue & Luxury (CRL), the Sr. Business Analyst will support the FBP team in the execution of financial management processes which support the financial and operational business strategies and plans designed to enable CRL to achieve its business objectives. He/she will contribute to:
  •    The ongoing monitoring, forecasting and reporting of financial performance and assisting in the development of actionable recommendations to address identified business challenges and opportunities. 
  •    Constantly driving to improve overall CRL reporting tools and capabilities, simplifying processes and improving our ability to address reporting related questions across the organization.   
  •    The ongoing monitoring of the reporting control environment and the development of actionable recommendations to improve controls and processes.
  •    Partnering to provide support for processes and reporting for budgeting, and assisting in creation of the overall budget reporting presentation for Senior Leadership
  •    Providing proactive support to ensure the financial and accounting information, reporting, and analysis needs of CRL are met through effective partnerships with the various Global Finance groups.

    He/she will establish and maintain strong relationships with these Global Finance groups and CRL staff to help effectively address business issues, identify and implement appropriate solutions, influence, as appropriate, business decisions, and improve overall business results.


    Expected Contributions



  •    Support efforts to monitor and measure the financial performance of CRL and its applicable programs and services to help ensure results are aligned with business objectives; deliver actionable monthly and quarterly reporting for Senior CRL Leadership
  •    Use data and reports generated by the various Global Finance groups and own analyses of operating results, trends and variations in results vs. expectations to identify actual/potential control issues and process improvement opportunities.
  •    Partner with Accenture Hospitality Services (AHS) and other Global Finance groups, as appropriate, to provide routine and ad-hoc operating results and analysis to CRL staff, and develop reporting to assist with monthly and quarterly reviews with department heads. 
  •    Partner with AHS, Global Finance, and other areas as needed to execute consolidation and other key financial processes on behalf of CRL.
  •    Using Power BI, standard and customized reports, KPIs and other data, to assist in the development of actionable recommendations to appropriately address identified business challenges and opportunities.
  •    Partner with the CRL FBP team and the appropriate Global Finance group to develop and/or modify reporting tools to ensure CRL operating results, programs and services funding and costs are accurately reflected in company financials. 
  •    Provide financial assistance in the management and oversight of balance sheet activity.
  •    Engage relevant Global Finance groups to operationalize new programs, services and initiatives, or funding requests outside of the normal budget process (e.g., new department set up, confirmation of supplemental budgets requests, etc.)
  •    Partner with the CRL FBP team, discipline staff, AHS, and the Global Finance Business Partnership to execute the enterprise-wide annual budget process.
  •    Participate in review meetings with CRL staff to support presentation of budgets and long-range plans, and support overall planning and consolidation of annual budgets for senior leadership reviews. 
  •    Establish and nurture relationships with CRL staff to ensure information flow is timely and appropriate to effect attention to business challenges and opportunities.
  •    Partner with AHS and other Global Finance groups, as appropriate, to ensure service delivery metrics are met and operational challenges are resolved timely.
  •    Ensure in-depth knowledge and understanding of current processes and tools to facilitate serving as a key resource to CRL staff.
  •    Assist in proactively monitoring the financial control environment within CRL.
  •    Assist in the completion of annual compliance processes/procedures (e.g. Agreed Upon Procedures, Federal Disclosure Document, Owner Disclosures) for CRL applicable programs and services. Respond to compliance, financial and internal control audit requests as required (e.g. Sarbox).
  •    Identify and help implement process improvement opportunities in the interfaces with Global Finance groups.
  •    Perform ad-hoc analyses for and/or provide information to and advise, as appropriate, the CRL FBP team, CRL staff and other Global Finance groups on the business environment and key operating issues within the discipline.
  •    Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

    Candidate Profile



  •    Minimum 4+ years relevant financial management experience in a global organization with increasing management responsibility. 
  •    Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously; ability to translate business needs into operational financial management priorities. 
  •    Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of technical corporate finance concepts 
  •    Excellent PC skills: knowledge of PowerBI, MS Excel and presentation software skills
  •    Ability to organize and interpret complex, detailed financial information and present analytical results in manner appropriate for senior management decision-making (both orally and in writing, in memos or presentation format)
  •    Consistently make decisions in a timely manner sometimes with incomplete information and under tight deadlines and pressure. Comfortable challenging organizational norms and accepted thinking to improve effectiveness.
  •    Knowledge of generally accepted finance and accounting policies, principles and controls; as well as Marriott-specific accounting and finance processes and systems. 
  •    In depth knowledge and understanding of MI business model and management and franchisee contracts.
  •    Operates with a collaborative mindset to ensure that key stakeholders are considered, eliminating the need for duplicate systems; builds strong relationships to leverage information and insights to anticipate and respond to project risks; communicates well with project and other leaders; openly shares and does not withhold information.
