Job Description

The Recreation Supervisor – Pool & Beach Experiences is responsible for the leadership, oversight, and execution of all pool, beach, and group recreation activities. This role ensures exceptional guest experiences through sales, service, and operational excellence while coaching and guiding recreation associates to uphold Omni’s high standards of hospitality

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and daily oversight for all Pool and Beach Experiences, including cabanas, luxury chairs, umbrellas, and elite seating — ensuring excellence in both sales and service.

• Oversee Daily Activities Programs, including crafts, holiday events, and special events.

• Manage Group Recreation Events, such as corporate team-building activities, ensuring seamless execution and guest engagement.

• Supervise opening and closing procedures for pool and beach operations, maintaining standards for cleanliness, safety, and service delivery.

• Conduct daily stand-up meetings for morning, activities/craft, and evening teams to communicate clear goals and expectations.

• Coach and mentor recreation associates in their day-to-day roles to elevate service levels and guest satisfaction.

• Perform weekly Moments of Service audits to ensure service excellence across the department.

• Assist in pool operations by providing towel service, water service, and guest engagement, supporting servers and DRA team members.

• Exhibit creativity, crowd management skills, and a high level of service in all guest interactions.

• Handle and resolve guest complaints promptly, demonstrating confidence, empathy, and professionalism.

• Prepare and communicate end-of-day recaps to management detailing key events, action items, staff updates, and follow-ups.

• Inspect all recreation areas daily — including cabanas, pool deck, craft hut, Camp Amelia, and beach — to maintain cleanliness, safety, and readiness.

• Communicate rental options, pricing, and operational details to guests, including use of equipment such as microphones.

• Participate in Recreation Operations meetings and the monthly All Together Get Together event.

• Maintain knowledge of Omni culture, values, and property offerings, including Food & Beverage, family activities, and operating hours.

• Lift, push, and pull equipment on various surfaces including sand and uneven terrain.

• Walk and stand for extended periods and work in all safe weather conditions.

Qualifications

Tools and Equipment:

Equipment: Computer and programs to include Birch Street, ResortSuite, Xola and Outlook, Basic tools, Drill, Augers, shovels, surf boards, paddle boards, beach carts and towel bins.

Working Environment:

  • Interior and exterior with exposure to weather conditions
  • Expose to hot and cold temperatures
  • Various beach locations, department storage areas, pool decks and guest areas.

Physical Job Requirements (for essential functions only)

    • Valid drivers licenses
    • Able to lift and lift up to 50 pounds
    • Able to stoop, stand, push, pull and walk or stand for long periods of time
