Exciting Career Opportunity: Sales Director
Full-Time

As the Director of Sales, you will lead the strategic sales and marketing efforts for a single hotel property, with a focus on driving revenue growth through direct sales, marketing, digital channels, community partnerships, and public relations. You will be responsible for developing and executing a sales plan aligned with the hotel’s budget and revenue goals set forth by Naples Hotel Group.Success in this role will be measured by the conversion of new business, growth in sleeping room and catering revenue, and the overall return on investment of your sales efforts. You will be a key contributor to your property's financial performance while delivering exceptional service to our clients and partners. Job Responsibilities:
  • Drive revenue growth across all segments, including group, transient, contract, and catering/banquets.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales and marketing plans aligned with the hotel’s revenue goals and Naples Hotel Group standards.
  • Monitor brand tools and reports to identify business opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Partner with Revenue Management to ensure proper pricing strategies and adjust as needed to meet market demand.
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities through market research, competitor analysis, and lead generation.
  • Collaborate with brand Account Executives (Marriott, Hilton, IHG) to refer leads and leverage national partnerships.
  • Aggressively solicit and convert new business through prospecting, cold calls, site visits, and relationship-building.
  • Achieve or exceed assigned weekly sales activity goals (e.g., outside calls, prospecting, site tours, and maintenance calls).
  • Maintain accurate and updated account records and activities in Delphi.fdc with 100% adoption compliance.
  • Respond to all customer inquiries within 4 business hours with thorough and professional follow-up.
  • Conduct in-person and virtual sales presentations to prospective clients.
  • Manage strategic account development across departments/divisions to fully penetrate and retain key accounts.
  • Execute and manage all sales-related components of group business, including BEO meetings and F&B coordination.
  • Attend and represent the hotel at networking events, trade shows, and community partnerships.
  • Maintain consistent verbal and written communication with internal departments, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Partner with the Operations Team to ensure alignment on service delivery and group execution.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for internal coordination of large or high-value accounts.
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication of group details and changes to operating departments.
  • Participate in weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales-related meetings.
  • Supervise and support sales and catering team members in meeting personal and departmental goals.
  • Conduct training, performance reviews, and regular coaching for team development and accountability.
  • Make recommendations for hiring, terminations, and personnel decisions related to the sales team.
  • Eliminate selling barriers by identifying process improvements, streamlining operations, and creating SOPs.
  • Support front-line staff training (e.g., Front Desk, On-Site Coordinators) to optimize lead capture and conversion.
  • Be a visible leader and role model, demonstrating commitment to sales goals and company values.
    Complete weekly, monthly, and quarterlysales reports and forecasts as assigned.
  • Track and submit monthly expense and mileage reports accurately and on time.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards and Naples Hotel Group sales protocols.
  • Observe and focus sales activities during peak selling hours (Monday-Thursday, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. & 1:00-4:30 p.m.).
  • Participate in NHG-wide sales initiatives, programs, and corporate activities as requested.
  • Allocate time and resources strategically to target high-yield, high-ROI business segments.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to all communications, including email, voicemail, and guest inquiries.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company standards.Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to meet evolving business demands.

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years of hotel sales experience preferred, including direct room sales and marketing execution.
  • Proven ability to manage all aspects of a hotel sales and marketing department.
  • Flexible availability required, including evenings and weekends based on business needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including professional correspondence.
  • Highly organized with strong time management, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while prioritizing multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development skills; able to influence and empower others.
  • Strong initiative, perseverance, and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to translate strategic goals into actionable plans with measurable outcomes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to assess competitive landscape and adjust value propositions accordingly.
  • Deep understanding of customer relationships and the decision-making process to drive revenue growth.
  • Physical Demands:
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and use hands and fingers to operate standard office equipment.
  • Manual dexterity to operate phones, computers, tablets, and other office tools.
  • Close visual acuity required to view computer screens, financial data, and detailed reports.
  • Must be able to lift and move boxes or files weighing up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to travel for business, including visits to hotel locations or conferences, which may require overnight stays.
