The Opportunity
Responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the Franchise Operation, ensuring, but not limited to the following:
What You Get to Do
- Maintain and communicate the Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures Policies and Procedures to Associates.
- Meet personal sales goals and motivate others to drive store sales performance.
- Responsible for following all food and beverage health and safety regulations, as well as all Federal, State, Tribal and local applicable laws.
- Responsible for following and implementing all procedures in the Franchise Operations Manual, to include daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of inventory and sales.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) by accepting payment for retail sales and for processing receipts, refunds, or credits due to Guests.
- Work with Non-Gaming Operations staff to develop annual departmental budget(s) and held accountable, to the highest degree, for the control, accuracy and thoroughness of all expenses, records, and reports.
- Communicate important, relevant information to Associates.
- Attend scheduled meetings and training opportunities at the operations or elsewhere.
- Immediately report all pertinent equipment issues to the Store Manager.
- Provides prompt, courteous Guest service and professionally resolves Guest issues as they arise.
- Be knowledgeable of products and provide assistance and information to Guests when needed.
- Maintain a consistent and regular attendance record.
- Maintains an attitude and philosophy consistent with the company mission, vision, and values.
- Display a high level of maturity, discretion, tact, judgment, and the ability to deal with confidential matters.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Requirements of the Position
- Assist the Store Manager in hiring and developing courteous, role modeling sales-focused Associates.
- Supervise, monitor Associate success and coach Associates to help them achieve company expectations.
- Ensure that new Associates are thoroughly trained, oriented, and receive any ongoing job-related training, so that the Associates can accomplish their daily responsibilities and to comply with company standards.
- Contribute to a positive team environment in the store. Recognize Associates success and help boost store morale.
- Manage staff members as defined by the organizational structure by providing guidance and leadership for the department.
- Hire, train, coach and develop associates by utilizing all available resources for development opportunities.

What Qualifies You
- High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or ability to pass our Basic Skills Assessment, or successful completion of a related company approved development placement program.
- Must have four (4) years retail experience, two (2) years of which must be in Food & Beverage operations; or a two-year degree in Business and two years Food & Beverage operations experience.
- Must have at least one (1) year previous direct supervisory experience of a staff of at least 15 Associates.
- Obtain Serv-Safe Certification within six (6) months of employment.
- Must be able to pass Non-Gaming Suitability licensing.
- Must be fluent in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Must have the ability to travel locally, when needed.
- This position requires some travel and reliable transportation.
- Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.
Must Have Skills
- Must have strong Guest service skills.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently.
- Must possess effective communication and organization skills.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in one-on-one, small group situations, and to moderate-sized gatherings of associates, executives and/or community leaders.
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, percentages, common fractions, and decimals.
- Must be able to apply common sense understanding in order to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly required to:
- Talk and hear;
- See and adjust focus to include close, distance, color, depth, and peripheral vision;
- Stand, walk, run, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, and/or crawl;
- Handle objects, tools, and controls; reach with arms and hands.
- Lift, push, pull and/or move objects weighing up to one hundred (100) pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to:
- A low-to-moderate noise level (offices).
- A moderate-to-loud noise level (operations areas).
- Moving mechanical and/or electrical components.
- At times may be exposed to outside weather conditions.
