Engineer Mechanic (Hotel)

Hotel Barrière Fouquet’s - NY is looking for a qualified and experienced maintenance technician. This role will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in repair and maintenance of the property and facility, as well as a variety of technical tasks relative to the hotel. This role will report directly to the Director of Maintenance and Facilities. 

Responsibilities

• Inspects assigned area on a routine basis and performs maintenance where necessary to keep the facility in functioning and serviceable condition

• Ensure all hotel equipment is maintained and repaired as needed for full functionality

• Completes daily, weekly, or monthly checklists of pre-scheduled building and equipment maintenance procedures

• Repairs various fixtures and hardware such as doors, windows, minor appliances, office equipment, etc.

• Reports any major maintenance needs and recommends corrective action as appropriate

• Reports daily to Engineering Manager concerning the building statuses and irregular conditions

• Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows and counters

• Perform general maintenance work to ensure hotel maintenance quality and safety standards are achieved and maintained

• Complete minor work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, filters, light bulbs, patching vinyl, painting, repairs to pipe lines, toilets, sinks, kitchen and laundry equipment, etc

• Perform preventative maintenance duties as assigned

• Respond to guest room calls and assists guests with room issues

• Paint and finish furniture and fixtures in guest rooms, if needed

• Other duties and tasks as assigned by the manager

Requirements

• At least 3 years of Hotel Engineering experience preferred

• Knowledge of mechanical systems and site maintenance

• Familiar with HVAC systems and building operations

• Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and concentrate on detail in a fast-paced work environment

• Must be able to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks

• Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to communicate clearly and speak, read, write and understand English

• Requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.

• Requires Frequent walking, standing, bending, climbing, carrying, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling

• Flexible schedule to include day shift, night shift, weekends and holidays

• High school or equivalent (preferred)
