Job Overview

Under general direction from the Training Manager, (Supervisor) coordinates all training records, class enrollments, generates certificates, orders supplies and maintains Great Plains entry. Supports the Training Team as needed in the development of curriculum, workbooks, multimedia visual aids, refresher training, etc. Facilitates New Hire Orientation and all brand training as needed. Works with managers and staff to ensure completion and effectiveness of development to ensure alignment with business and tribal development strategies. This position is responsible for conducting auditions and tracking progress.  Auditions will consist of role-plays using prepared scenarios. The Talent Screening Specialist serves as the first point of contact for the candidate. Potential candidates will be required to successfully complete and pass the audition in order to be considered for all Front-of House positions.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Ensures all new hire paperwork is correct/accurate and turned into proper department
  • Orders office supplies as needed
  • Coordinates New Hire Orientation materials for each class
  • Assists with the cleanliness and preparation of the Training Room
  • Enter all training attendance into Great Plains
  • Communicates monthly training schedule/calendar
  • Ensures training certification requirements are kept up to date
  • Communicates enrollment to management for upcoming classes
  • Coordinates department bulletin board
  • Assists Training Team/Manager as needed
  • Creates and prepares scenarios for auditions
  • Facilitates auditions using role-plays
  • Creates and delivers scripted introduction, overview, and explanation of process to all candidates attending the audition
  • Ensures that every candidate has a completed rating sheet attached to their application prior to an interview
  • Maintains monthly status report of potential and viable candidate pools
  • Assists in facilitating New Hire Orientation (NHO) bi-weekly or as needed
  • Assists Training Specialist with identification of organizational issues that relate to training needs
  • Assists Training Specialist with curriculum revisions and methods to improve effectiveness
  • Establishes training codes and maintains training history in Great Plains for all employees
  • Works with and communicates with other departments for the overall good of the company
  • Communicate in a positive tone and display behavior that is a credit to Wind Creek Hospitality
  • Exhibits sound decision-making in order to keep morale high at all times
  • Flexibility in travel and meeting business demands
  • Works flexible hours; evenings and week-ends as requested or required

Job Requirements: (please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying)

  • High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within 6 months from start date as a condition of continued employment
  • Associate’s Degree- preferred
  • Two (2) years or more front of the house experience, dealing with guest- required
  • Excellent Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook skills required; an average score of 70% or higher on the skills test- required
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously- required
  • Ability to work independently- required
  • Excellent public speaking skills; presentation will be required- required
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal; an essay will be required- required
  • The willingness and ability to take direction from multiple managers as required
  • Must have excellent organizational skills
  • Must have excellent guest service/relation skills along with good writing and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced, high volume environment
  • Willing to work odd and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
  • Must have a valid and current State Driver’s License and an insurable driving record for purposes of driving company vehicles as required
  • Must have a Tribal Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this position
  • Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment
