Working at any one of our Xanterra brands can be the experience of a lifetime, where you can create everlasting memories, life-long friendships and help make each guest visit a cherished memory. For the person who loves the outdoors, this is the ideal location to live and work. After a good day’s work, our employees can take advantage of numerous hiking, biking and photography opportunities within the park, or use the tennis courts, swimming pool and golf course at no charge. For those with fitness in mind, we have an employee exercise and weight room. There is also a stable, where horseback riding is available October through May.
The Oasis at Death Valley gives you the perfect vantage point from which to explore Death Valley National Park. Everywhere you look, you will find natural wonders unknown in any other part of the world marked by salt flats, ancient geological formations, chiseled canyons and the lowest point in the Americas, Badwater at 282 feet below sea level all the way to the surrounding majestic mountains rising to 11,049 feet at Telescope Peak.
The Oasis at Death Valley is a community living environment. Community living can be a great way to bond and create lifelong friendships with others who share similar interests and values, however, it does come with some challenges. Being prepared will help with your transition. Employee housing varies by position, however, most is rustic cabin or dorm style, with communal bathrooms. Each room accommodates 2-3 people and includes beds, wardrobes/closets and a desk. Utilities, basic cable and WiFi are included. Dormitory buildings do not have cooking facilities. You must be 18 years of age or older to live in company housing and must be actively employed by Xanterra. Pets, candles and smoking are not permitted in company housing.
There is limited space available for couples who are applying together, as well as limited RV sites with full hookups for those who wish to live in their own RV or trailer. Children and pets are welcome in our trailer park.
Payment for rent and utilities is a payroll deduction from bi-weekly paychecks. Payment amounts vary based on position and housing style.
Employee meals are provided in our Employee Dining Room (EDR) and offer a variety of options including vegetarian dishes, however, the EDR Chef and Crew are not able to accommodate all dietary needs such as vegan or allergy-related restrictions.
Although the Oasis at Death Valley does have cell service and Wi-Fi access, due to its remote nature, cell reception varies throughout the park, depending on your provider and plan, and Wi-Fi may be much slower than you're accustomed to.
