Good food. Good beer. Good movies. All under one roof.
That's how we described Alamo Drafthouse in 1997. More than two decades later, that mission hasn't changed and it never will. From day one, our goal has been simple: create the best cinematic experience in the world. Here's what that means to us.
The movies matter most
We don't aspire to be just another multiplex. Everyone at Alamo Drafthouse, from managers to servers to cooks, is united by a genuine love of film.
To us, a daring foreign-language drama deserves the same spotlight as the latest blockbuster. Through Drafthouse Recommends, we've championed bold, innovative films like GET OUT, THE FLORIDA PROJECT, THE HANDMAIDEN, and EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE, helping them find passionate audiences.
We're equally devoted to classic cinema. Whether it's an interactive Movie Party, a chef-driven menu paired to a beloved film, or a rediscovery of a forgotten gem, we celebrate movie history with reverence and a sense of fun.
And we don't run paid ads. Arrive early, and you'll see a custom, ad-free pre-show curated by our very own team.
Paired with food and drink
Seeing a movie at Alamo Drafthouse means cold drinks, handcrafted cocktails, local craft beer, and freshly prepared meals delivered directly to your seat.
Our menus feature burgers, pizzas, salads, snacks, and desserts made with locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Our chefs also regularly create limited-time menus inspired by the movies themselves, from an all-Pakistani feast curated by Kumail Nanjiani for THE BIG SICK to a burger shop takeover for THE BOB'S BURGERS MOVIE.
And yes, beer is serious business here. Every location highlights standout local breweries, while our bar teams constantly experiment with new cocktails designed to elevate the experience on screen.
Obsessive about picture and sound
Presentation isn't a detail, it's the point. We invest heavily in technology, maintenance, and training to ensure every film looks and sounds exactly as intended.
Because many great films only exist on celluloid, most Alamo Drafthouse locations are equipped with 35mm projectors, and several feature widescreen 70mm beloved by filmmakers like Christopher Nolan and Paul Thomas Anderson. Our projectionists are essential to who we are and to keeping cinema alive in its purest form.
Respect is non-negotiable
Respect for our guests, our team, and the filmmakers guides everything we do. That's why:
Work Hard, Play Hard, Watch Movies! 🎟️ Burger or blockbuster? Why choose! Life at Alamo is all about great vibes, an "all-hands-on-deck" team culture, and celebrating what makes each of us unique. We take care of our people with solid perks, supportive leadership, and an environment where pushing outside your comfort zone is encouraged.
