Controller - Restaurant and Hotel

As we continue to redefine luxury and culinary experiences, we're searching for a skilled individual to fill the pivotal role of Controller at Selvin's Restaurant and the Palm Garden Hotel.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Approving Invoices: Review and approve invoices, ensuring correct coding between Restaurant and Hotel
2. Reviewing/Approving Employee Expense Reports: Ensure compliance with company policies, reviewing and approving employee expense reports.
3. Payroll: Oversee HR functions, including processing payroll and collaborating with the General Manager (GM) on time card approvals.
4. Tip Submission and Distribution: Coordinate with GM/AGM for tip submissions and determine appropriate distribution methods.
5. Time Penalty/Meal Break Violations: Review and address time penalty and meal break violations in collaboration with the GM.
6. Ownership Communication: Conduct regular communication sessions with property ownership to ensure alignment and address any financial concerns.
7. Financial Oversight & Reporting: Provide comprehensive financial oversight and reporting for both hotel and restaurant units.
8. Night Audit Reports: Review hotel night audit reports to ensure accuracy and address any discrepancies.
9. House Bank Reconciliations: Perform house bank reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy and integrity.
10. Approval System Implementation: Develop and implement an approval system to establish checks and balances within the businesses.
11. Financial Advice/Business Strategy: Offer financial advice and contribute to business strategy discussions aimed at optimizing performance and profitability.
12. Cost-saving Initiatives: Identify opportunities to save costs, analyze problems, and implement effective solutions to maximize savings.
13. Business Unit Splits: Ensure accurate splits between hotel and restaurant business units to facilitate proper financial management.
14. Weekly Sales & Labor Reports: Generate and analyze weekly sales and labor reports for the restaurant unit, providing insightful summaries to inform decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry preferred.
• Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
