Assistant Restaurant Manager

The Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible for the supervision and direction of service during the dinner period. Providing support and direction to the servers, bartenders, and support staff as well as training would also be a function of the Assistant Restaurant Manager.  You will be responsible for holding pre-meal meetings to review specials along with other information the staff will need to know to make the restaurant a success.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Restaurant Manger with inventories, staff training and scheduling.
  • Conduct and participate in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings.
  • Must be TIPs and Serve safe certified or able to obtain training within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Participate in hiring of staff and providing progressive disciplinary action.
  • A positive attitude, customer service mindset and excellent communication skills are a must.
  • Coaching and problem-solving skills.
  • Assist the Restaurant Manager in identifying any developmental needs of your team and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping them to improve their knowledge or skills.
  • Ensuring compliance with all food & beverage policies, standards, procedures by training, supervising, providing follow-up, and all applicable laws and regulations, as well as food handling and sanitation standards
  • Coach staff to understand local, state, and federal liquor laws.
  • Providing guidance and direction to staff, including abiding by performance standards and monitoring performance
  • Previous restaurant supervisor experience is preferred.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; 2/3 years’ experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
  • Ability to encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
  • Ability to approach difficult situations with a customer service focus.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
