Sales Managers are the energetic, positive, tenacious, and competitive force behind hotel revenue generation.  Responsible for actively soliciting new business, negotiating contracts, communicating client needs, and engaging repeat business, Sales Managers must employ varied sales strategies to reach aggressive goals.  The primary role of a Sales Manager is to identify prospective clientele, effectively negotiate and sell a complete solution, support client needs throughout the process, and book repeat business by exceeding client expectations.

What you'll be doing...

  • Direct and manage all individual Corporate Business(transient) and Leisure segments to maximize revenue and profit for First Hospitality (FH) hotels, while providing the guest/client with the highest level of quality service. Monitor all corporate, wholesale, and leisure accounts status regularly and adjust strategies as appropriate
  • Responsible for total revenue goals for all Business, wholesale, and Leisure travel segments
  • Implement and monitor sales plans for both leisure, wholesale, and business transient segments to ensure revenue budget objectives are achieved
  • Manage his/her own market, conduct sales calls, actively participates in key trade shows, sales presentations, client meetings, fam trips, as required
  • Maintain strong relationships with top travel trade partners in the leisure, wholesale and corporate transient arena as well as key decision makers keeping the FH hotels top of mind.
  • Assist in preparing and compiling data for the quarterly sales action plan, annual goals, sales & marketing budgets, and commercial plans as directed/required.
  • Prepare and submit corporate, wholesale, and leisure RFPs by due dates – while working with Dir of Revenue/Directors of Sales & Marketing on pricing
  • Work with brand(s) leadership on maximizing their tools.
  • Monitor the corporate transient and leisure & wholesale agreements process and rate quoting while monitoring production and setting up quarterly reviews with key accounts
  • Manage the retention, reactivation, and acquisition of all accounts
  • Participate in daily business review meetings and weekly strategy sales meetings with fervor and ensures that all Leisure, Corporate and Wholesale accounts are discussed for revenue maximization
  • Assist to develop and execute a robust Suite strategy for accounts that utilize higher-rated room types that will ensure the promotion and sale of these suite categories
  • Work with Marketing, Revenue, and Director of Sales to capitalize on all Business Travel, Leisure, and Wholesale marketing opportunities as well as GDS.
  • Maintain a high level of competition product knowledge and market intelligence. As an example, but not limited to overseeing comp set strategies both on promotions and digital channels as well as Hotelligence and brand reports and insight

Experience & Education: 

  • 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in hotels or related field
  • 4-year degree in hospitality management or sales preferred, or equivalent experience and education

Communication:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including electronic communication
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in primary language used in the workplace

Physical:

  • 8+ hours per day sitting desk/computer; stand and walk occasionally throughout workday
  • Lift, lower, and maneuver up to 10 pounds occasionally
  • Manual dexterity and repetitive motions required throughout workday
