The Engineering Manager; Supervises and oversees the base building's mechanical equipment and engineering staff. The overall responsibility for managing engineering operations and coordinating with the Senior Managers all hotel needs and functions under the direct supervision and instructions of the Hotel General Manager.
- Manage daily activities, communicate goals, implement schedules and follow proper procurement procedures to ensure engineering associates have the tools and supplies needed to carry out their job duties
- Train engineering associates to comply with corporate, local, state, and federal laws
- You may be required to work weekends, holidays, and other hours outside your regular schedule to support the department's needs. Due to the nature of the hospitality industry
- Able to work various schedules to reflect the hotel's business needs, including after-hours, weekends, and holidays
- The Engineering Manager will carry out any other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job as requested by the General Manager
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times. Deal promptly and efficiently with guest complaints and needs
- Have a thorough knowledge of emergency and safety procedures. Respond to all emergencies and be prepared to assist
- Responsible for ordering supplies, tools, and equipment and maintaining proper par levels to corporate department standards
- This role will maintain and implement the department's BOH preventive maintenance program
- Maintain the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program for the back-of-the-house areas. Create and implement a PM program for the mechanical equipment in the building Review, adhere to, and understand all safety procedures. Perform maintenance checks of equipment and logs properly.
- Attend Daily Operations Meetings
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of all workspaces, shops, and storage areas
- Direct the performance of the staff and follow up with corrective action when needed. Adhere to all hotel/company procedures, and policies established by the company, including but not limited to those contained in the employee handbook

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
- Prior Engineering experience (Preferably hotels)
- HVAC knowledge
- Possesses the ability to troubleshoot effectively
- Computer skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Requires ability to perform the following: carrying, lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand up and move frequently about the facility, handle objects and equipment to maintain it, and constantly bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and crawl.
- Able to tolerate noisy environments, hot or cold temperatures, and confined spaces. This job may require working from heights higher than 4 feet and working off ladders.
Experience:
A minimum of 3 + years in a hotel in a similar role is required. Track record of working collaboratively with others to achieve desired results. Skilled in problem analysis, problem-solving, and decision making.
