Job Description

Omni Royal Orleans is seekinga friendly Host/Greeter to join our team.

Located in the heart of the French Quarter, Omni Royal Orleans anchors the corner of St. Louis and Royal Streets and has long been recognized as a historic Four Diamond hotel that reflects a more sophisticated time.

As part of our recent renovation, the Royal Lobby Bar is a new addition, enhancing our tradition of timeless elegance while offering guests a refreshed experience.

Responsibilities

  • Be the first point of contact by greeting and seating guests.

  • Assist managers with opening and closing tasks.

  • Answer phones and provide helpful information.

  • Keep guest flow smooth and organized during busy times.

  • Share knowledge about the hotel, menus, buffets, and daily specials.

  • Anticipate guest needs and deliver a warm, personalized experience.

  • Introduce servers to guests and make smooth handoffs.

  • Handle guest checks accurately and efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must have hands-on food and beverage knowledge and a comprehensive, working knowledge of the hospitality business.
  • A minimum of relevant bar experience in a hotel is strongly preferred.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed during busy times and high-profile events, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Highly developed customer service skills; possessing a friendly approachable demeanor and strong problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proven ability to engage guests at all levels. Must be passionate about providing warm, engaging and personalized service.
  • Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle multiple priorities.
  • Must possess the ability to handle stressful and busy hotel operations. Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor and composure at all times.
  • Must have the ability to report to work on time and when scheduled.
  • Must have the ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must meet standards of appearance and maintain a high level of personal hygiene at all time.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills. Candidate must be comfortable speaking to guests. Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management, and co-workers.
  • Must have valid food handlers Certification and Louisiana Responsible Vendor Card.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.

Working Environment:

  • Duties performed throughout the interior of the hotel, including all public and service areas.

  • Occasional work in the exterior areas of the hotel, with exposure to varying weather conditions.

  • Exposure to and handling of various cleaning and hazardous chemicals in compliance with safety standards.

  • Frequent exposure to food and beverage items in both front-of-house and back-of-house operations.

Tools & Equipment:

  • Uses computers, printer, telephones, pens/pencils, photocopy machines, filing systems, and fax machines as needed.
