THE ROLE:
As a Receiving Clerk at Park Hyatt Chicago, you will be responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely receipt of all food, beverage, and non-food deliveries. You will verify product quality, quantities, and documentation while ensuring that all items are handled, stored, and routed according to Park Hyatt standards.
This role requires a disciplined, detail-driven professional who takes ownership of the receiving dock and understands its impact on culinary excellence, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction. Working closely with Purchasing, Culinary, and Finance teams, you will maintain organization, safety, and clear communication throughout the receiving process, supporting seamless hotel operations from the first point of entry.
WAGE INFORMATION:
The hourly rate for this position is $26.50. This position is also eligible to earn overtime and premium pay under certain circumstances.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of receiving, purchasing, or inventory control experience in a luxury hotel, Forbes-rated property, fine dining, or high-end hospitality environment, with a proven record of accuracy, accountability, and operational excellence.
Food Safety & Certification: Strong knowledge of food safety, handling, and storage standards, including temperature verification, product inspection, and proper handling of perishable and non-perishable goods. Current food handler certification is required.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to verify purchase orders, invoices, and deliveries with precision, identifying discrepancies, damage, or quality concerns before goods enter hotel operations.
Operational Excellence: Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of deliveries while maintaining organization, efficiency, and strict adherence to luxury brand standards.
Professional Judgment: Sound decision-making skills with the confidence to escalate concerns appropriately and collaborate with Culinary, Purchasing, and Finance leadership.
Physical Capability: Comfortable performing physically demanding tasks, including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs, while maintaining professionalism and focus.
Professional Demeanor:Consistent professionalism, discretion, and pride in workmanship, reflecting the elevated standards and brand image of Park Hyatt Chicago.
Team Collaboration: A dependable and collaborative team member who communicates clearly and supports a seamless, well-coordinated operation.
