JOB OVERVIEW
The Senior Sales Manager will be responsible for total account management of corporate accounts, including soliciting, and contracting corporate transient and group business in accordance with the marketing plan and assigned market segments. Generates a high profile and quality perception in the marketplace. Responsible for generating guest room and other revenues as described by the Director of Sales & Marketing. Also responsible for maximizing profitability and ensuring overall guest satisfaction.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Must have a bachelor’s degree or 3 years’ equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong understanding of corporate accounts, Business Travel, Leisure, and WA clients and segments
- Must have a minimum of 3 years’ Hotel Sales Manager experience
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- Marriott experience preferred
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Meet or exceed pre-determined booking goals for transient and group room revenue; meet or exceed budgeted costs and revenue on a monthly average with the liberty to negotiate as needed within established guidelines while maintaining overall revenue goals.
- Advanced level of producing sales revenue by directly soliciting business through aggressive prospecting, outside sales calls, making presentations, developing contracts, negotiating, and closing sales.
- Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel, both orally and in written form, to previous, current, and potential clients.
- Manage and maintain a portfolio of corporate transient and corporate group accounts, ensuring complete, accurate, and timely account management from initial prospecting through post-stay follow up.
- Handle account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented.
- Responsible for prompt handling (within the business day) of inquiry calls and monitoring the efficient flow of paperwork relative to confirming details to clients.
- Solicit new and repeat guest room and meeting business; determine client needs, space availability, and meeting details as applicable.
- Show client meeting spaces and other areas of the hotel, as applicable
- Host clients at the hotel, so they can experience outlets firsthand
- Personally, meet with VIP guests and clients to ensure their needs are met and to gather feedback
- Make outside sales calls and telemarket to obtain business; utilize site inspections and hosted client events as appropriate to secure new accounts and grow market share.
- Negotiate annual and ongoing corporate rates and contracted terms in alignment with hotel strategy and profitability goals.
- Evaluate business opportunities for profitability and overall benefit to the hotel.
- Coordinate various departments’ participation in servicing accounts to ensure successful execution of all contracted programs and services.
- Interact in person with the Director of Sales and Marketing, General Manager, Sales subordinates, the F&B Department, and accounting team
- Complete coordination of corporate group functions when applicable, including accurate and timely preparation of detailed Sales Contracts and Group Resumes; review function contracts prior to distribution to client and hotel staff.
- Assist in preparation and distribution of detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), Group Resumes, Diagrams, and billing instructions to operational departments.
- Follow up on the progress of accounts booked, including room night pickup, production performance, rooming lists, and cutoff dates, ensuring maximum occupancy and revenue optimization.
- Participate in daily business review meetings, pre-convention meetings, training, and other sales-related meetings as required.
- Maintain an active liaison with competitors and industry associations; monitor pricing, service levels, facilities, and market trends to keep the hotel competitive.
- Attend trade shows, community events, and industry meetings; represent the hotel in community affairs and industry-related events.
- Generate “thank you” notes to clients after functions and stays with prompt follow-up of negative client feedback as necessary.
- Ensure all billing, deposits, contracts, and payments are handled according to accounting standards.
- Follow up on bookings, renewals, and contract anniversaries; solicit repeat business and secure long-term account loyalty.
