About the Role: As the Convention Services Manager you will be required to organize and detail requirements of each function. Coordinate activities of various departments to service accounts, such as delivery of VIP amenities. Communicate with sales, front office and reservations in order to coordinate and monitor guest room blocks and special reservation needs. Assign banquet/meeting rooms set up based on needs of clients. Monitor in house group activity providing assistance as needed such as organizing exhibit set up. Establish rapport with and entertain meeting planners while promoting hotel facilities and services. Conduct site inspections throughout property Assist sales staff in promoting hotel, developing leads and securing repeat business. Plan and conduct pre- and post-convention meetings with clients and respective departments. Access and input data into a computer system to generate account history reports. As well as communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff.

Responsibilities: The Convention Services Manager is responsible for discussing and coordinating all details of an event with the client and communicating this information through respective hotel department heads after the sales contract has been signed. S/he also will ensure that any catering related goals and groups with their needs are coordinated. Solicitation, selling and contracting rooms for assigned market in coordination with transient demand patterns and existing group business to maximize hotel room and related revenue. Execute outside and inside sales solicitation to grow new group business.

Requirements:

• Hotel experience in hotel conference planning/services, sales, or banquet management
• Knowledge of Delphi, PMS, MS Outlook, and Excel is preferred
• A bachelor’s degree in hospitality or business management is preferred, or equivalent work experience
• Must have a high level of attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills to facilitate the coordination of all departments in fulfilling the client's requests
• Proven record of accomplishment for sales conversion and exceeding established revenue goals
• Must have effective communication and organizational skills

Compensation: $66,000 per year
