We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Administrator to support our finance team with accurate financial reporting and analysis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing monthly statements, reconciling accounts, monitoring budgets, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This role involves collaborating with department heads to track expenses, analyze revenue performance, and support audits. Candidates should have strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software (such as Excel and PMS systems), and prior experience in hospitality accounting.
Responsibilities
Accounting Operations & Financial Management
- Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Maintain accurate and organized direct billing and group billing files.
- Ensure all invoices and group billings are accurately prepared and sent in a timely manner.
- Post payments, adjustments, and miscellaneous charges to both city and guest ledgers.
- Reconcile all cash, check, and wire payments daily.
- Reconcile Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) and sales tax accounts daily.
- Complete daily audit reconciliations of all hotel revenue.
- Enter income audit data into M3 accounting software.
Financial Analysis & Compliance
- Conduct financial analysis to support business decision-making and provide data-driven insights and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Coordinate with external auditors and assist with internal and external financial audits.
- Provide daily cash over/short reports and perform month-end main safe and bank audits.
Guest, Group, and House Account Management
- Review and monitor house accounts daily to ensure no outstanding balances.
- Review and respond to all chargebacks promptly and accurately.
- Research and resolve guest billing inquiries courteously and efficiently.
- Calculate and record Catering/Sales breakdowns and audit missing banquet checks.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting.
- Hotel experience required
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Opera preferred) and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
