The Role: 

Shift Manager - Surveillance  is responsible for aiding the Director of Surveillance in the administration and effective operation of the Bally’s Tiverton Casino Hotel Surveillance department. Monitor casino and associated areas via video cameras, computer screens, monitors, digital recorders, access control systems, computer dispatch, video printers, switches, selectors, and direct observation to insure compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures; direct activities of the shift.

Responsibilities: 

• Organize routine random surveillance, special surveillance, and audit surveillance as requested or required.
• Organize and participate in routine floor observations of all or any assigned area to detect violations of law, policy or procedure (physical observation).
• Perform special surveillance – CCTV intensive dedication, close observation of a target game, team member, or patron and any excluded patrons and employees. Also produces reports on all incidents for managements review.
• Organize current information on known cheats, counter scams and methods via published documents, direct contact, and other surveillance departments.
• Maintain familiarity with Rhode Island Lottery Video Lottery Terminal Procedures and Bally’s Tiverton policy and all appropriate department procedures.
• Testify in procedures stated above as required and attend court hearings and other legal matters as required.

• Coordinate all recordings and documentation of casino as requested by surveillance management for adjunct departments occurring on individual shifts.
• Understand and operate all surveillance CCTV, videotape, camera switching, reprogramming equipment, and use of all computer equipment.
• Work with the Director of Surveillance to establish policies and procedures for monitoring compliance with the Rhode Island Lottery, state and local law enforcement.
• Administer department policies, procedures, objectives, and standards.
• Schedules, evaluates, counsels, disciplines, and trains staff members while promoting teamwork.
• Maintain strict confidentiality within the established guidelines.
• Performs additional duties as required.

Qualifications: 

• Two years Surveillance operator experience
•  Two years knowledge of monitor room equipment
•  Broad knowledge of casino procedures and gaming regulations
• Previous supervisory experience preferred

License Requirements:

Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation – Gaming Operations License

Physical/Mental Requirements:

•  Frequent sitting, speaking, seeing, hearing, and listening
•  Occasional twisting, kneeling, handling, wrist motion, bending, and working in tight spaces
•  Work a schedule that may include nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions:

•  Work indoors in cramped quarters, frequently in climate-controlled environment
