Summary
Performs office and clerical duties in the Engineering Office including but not limited to typing, filing, creating purchase requests, petty cash disperse, check request, dispatching, and computer work as required. Performs any other related duties as assigned.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Answer telephone calls and dispatches maintenance requests to the Engineering Department employees in accordance to Hotel established guidelines
Type memos and other correspondence as required
Enter maintenance requests and preventative maintenance data into computer systems as required
Process purchase requests per established department guidelines
Maintains Engineering Department filing system
Maintains and inventory engineering tools
Maintains daily logs for energy usage
Maintains a calendar of events and reminders
Preliminary review of bills
Attends department meetings
Create signs for the entire Hotel
Assist Supervisor with permits, building codes, and drawings
Performs walk through with prosperous vendors
Breaks down and assembles Assa Abloy safes for Hotel guestrooms
Maintains and exchange non-operable guestroom plasma televisions (Remove)
Maintain accurate logs but not limited to: Engineering System Technology, Elevator Issues, Televisions, Safes & Locks, HotSOS, Engineering Department uniforms, General Electric, Hotel Gas Meter Readings
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. The employee is expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations to perform job duties not necessarily contained in this job description.

Qualifications
Education / Experience

High school diploma or equivalent
General knowledge of hotel and building maintenance functions preferred.
Prior experience in hotels is desirable
Requirements
- Physical demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear
- The employee is frequently required to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
- The employee must have the ability to learn and engage on how to send outgoing mail through USPS, UPS & Fed-Ex.
- The employee must have the ability to become well familiarized with hotel room locations, draining systems, motorize locations (pump rooms, water heaters, boilers, & chiller areas)
- Communication
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings and mechanical maintenance instructions.
- Computer skills
- General knowledge of office computers and systems required, including but not limited to Excel , Word , and Outlook
- Ability to learn Energy Management System (EMS), preventative maintenance and guest response software
- Ability to learn hotel software: Hotsos & Springer Miller (SMS)
- Ability to withdraw information from the internet to locate specifications, manuals, operation guides to different machines
