The Opportunity

Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures (MLCV) is a tribally owned and operated enterprise. The ideal candidate would be highly organized, motivated, and detail-oriented, with the ability to work on multiple tasks in a variety of businesses. The Senior Finance System Analyst will be the main point of contact for the Workday Finance System. The ideal candidate will lead Business Intelligence Analyst positions and will work along with HCM System Analysts to execute plans to optimize Workday through change and day-to-day management of the system. The Senior Finance BI Functional Change Analyst will be responsible for Workday Finance configuration, security and audit, reporting and analytics, tenant management, training guidance, and adoption campaigns.

What You Get to Do

  • Serve as the intelligence lead in supporting Finance areas in Workday, including Procurement, Contracts and Suppliers, Customers, Expense Management, Banking and Settlement, Financial Accounting (General Ledger and Reporting), Business Assets, Projects, Budgeting, and Financial Planning, Payroll and Time Tracking.
  • Provide support to end-users of the Workday platform. This includes answering questions, resolving issues, and following through on any reported or unresolved issues ensuring timely and reliable response.
  • Provide consolation to Financials support partners, building domain knowledge gathering requirements, providing solutions and impact analysis.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on current and upcoming Workday capabilities. Manages, leads, and supports all Workday system releases, ensuring proper testing of system upgrades.
  • Coordinate, prepare and execute communications and training efforts related to the Payroll/Finance Workday system and related process changes, including coordination of leadership forums, employee newsletters or alerts, informational sites and manuals, training curriculum, and other related assets.
  • Maintain master data values in Workday across areas of responsibility.
  • Configure, test, validate and implement Business Process changes in Workday.
  • Provide input and knowledge sharing with Workday Leadership Committee Members, Workday Team Members, and clients as appropriate.
  • Lead and serve as support and resource for Security, Report Management, and Integration. Assist in testing integrations, security and recurring events.
  • Participate in scheduled and ad hoc training to improve policy and process acumen.
  • Design and maintain system configuration, such as cost centers and consolidations.
  • Proactively provide input to improve the change management strategy that will ensure effective and efficient communication based on audience/objectives.
  • Collaborate across Workday support team and HR/Finance function to develop and execute communication plans, sponsorship maps, training plans and resistance management plans.
  • Measure effectiveness of communication and training to identify improvement. Provide user support services by innovating new ways to disseminate best practices and increase end-user engagement. Develop educational materials to improve user experience and knowledge of Workday system.

What Qualifies You

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in a Technical Field, Accounting or Finance, related field or 8+ years of experience in systems or accounting/finance or similar role.
  • Must be extremely literate in ERP Applications with ability to identify, design, test and deploy Finance processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Workday Finance experience or training preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting/finance functional or ERP/accounting systems preferred
  • Responsible for following all relevant Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGR’s).
  • Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.

  • Ability to understand finance operations and experience in Finance data management and reporting.
  • Ability to analyze processes, actively seeking feedback and improvement, in systems.
  • Must have excellent problem solving and organizational skills. Position gives advice/direction to co-workers on a variety of accounting components specific to each individual company.
  • Displays a high level of maturity, discretion, tact, judgment, and the ability to deal with confidential matters.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate experience in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and a cloud-based communication and retention system, such as Microsoft Teams.
  • ERP system understanding and accounting system experience required.
  • Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority.
  • Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.

WorkEnvironment:

Position offers hybrid flexibility, with scheduled required days in-office to fulfill duties of the position, attend meetings and as required by management.
