Join our resort as our Events Sales Manager.
Our Events Sales Manager role is an integral part of the Spirit Ridge team and is responsible for selling and servicing events. Primary sales efforts are in Banquet Food and Beverage and include menu planning, agenda setting and hotel resort meeting services. This role will also include contract review and facilitating communication before, during and post events with pertinent hotel staff to ensure high levels of service.
The Event Sales Manager will host site inspections, maintain strong customer relationships, lead and participate in event meetings and works as a team member with the sales and events staff.
The position demands excellent communication and analytical skills and the ability to maintain the highest food and beverage standards. The Event Sales Manager will work well under pressure, is detail oriented, organized, flexible, creative and self-motivated.
Responsibilities will include:
•Ability to assist the hotel in reaching top service scores on our Meeting Planner surveys. Ensure thorough communication and understanding with guests and other departments by reviewing Banquet Event Orders and Group Resumes
•Being the client’s primary point of contact in the hotel for guest room needs including guest room reservations and rooming lists prior to and during the event.
•Responsible for ensuring coordination and execution of all events with our banquet team, to ensure that equipment and food standards are being met and exceeded
•Responsible for maintaining a high energy, positive, professional appearance
•Responsible for developing innovative and creative décor for function space unique to the group’s needs.
•Responsible for short and long-term detailing of banquet functions and weddings of various sizes
•Creates an environment establishing highest standards of quality service
•Administrative tasks may include the facilitation of reports, forecasts and budget for food and beverage functions
•Performing daily walk-throughs in all setup function space to ensure full compliance with standards
•Ability to develop ideas for special events and holiday functions
•Responsible for event billing including deposits, billing modifications and billing accuracy of the events and blocks.
Qualifications
•Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, strong developer and trainer and effective in providing exceptional customer service
•A true desire to understand and anticipate the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
•Two to four years previous experience as an Event Sales Manager
•Degree or diploma from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major.
•Previous experience in Opera, Hyatt EMS/Envision would be an asset
•Refined verbal and written communication skills
•Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
•Full flexibility of hours, including the ability to work weekends and holidays and a varied schedule
•Previous hotel experience and a thorough understanding of all levels of banquet service
