The opportunity

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is searching for a seasonal Kitchen Manager to join our team in Kings Canyon National Park, California. In this role, you will be overseeing both Grant Grove and Cedar Grove kitchen operations, training teams, managing schedules, inventory, food production, and ensuring safety, sanitation and quality standards are met. If you are an experienced back-of-house leader who enjoys working closely with team members and culinary leadership to deliver the highest standard of food quality to our guests, this role could be your next energizing experience. Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $46,100 – $62,200 / year

What will you do?

  • Administration of all restaurant, kitchen, and bar-related functions to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Hire, train, and manage an effective team, providing feedback on their job responsibilities and alignment to Delaware North programs
  • Research and develop new policies, procedures, menus, and control policies that elevate service standards and accountability of staff
  • Coordinate menus and alcohol compliance and quality standards, handle guest relations, and monitor adherence to quality assurance standards

More about you

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a high-volume restaurant and/or catering environment, supervising service personnel
  • Experience in effectively leading a team is required
  • Ability to communicate through oral and written skills with staff, creating a positive work environment
  • Proficient computer skills, including Word and Excel
  • No degree required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Skyland is nestled along mile 41.7 & 42.5 at Skyline Drive's highest elevation - 3,680 feet. Lodging accommodations range from premium rooms to detached small cabins, preferred and traditional rooms, suites, and pet friendly rooms - located in 28 separate buildings along the ridge and in the wooded areas on over 27 acres of Shenandoah National Park.

While there are no in-room phones, cell service is available depending on your provider. While we encourage you to disconnect from your everyday cares and reconnect with nature and each other, WiFi is also available!
