The opportunity

Delaware North Sportservice is hiring a Retail Operations Manager to join our team at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. The Retail Operations Manager is responsible for leading operational execution across in-venue retail, event-operations, gameday operations, warehouse operations, and inventory management at Little Caesars Arena. This role ensures operational excellence, inventory accuracy, fulfillment performance, and scalable infrastructure to support multiple professional sports teams, concerts, special events, and digital retail growth.

This position bridges strategy and operational execution — driving operational discipline while supporting revenue growth, guest experience, and brand integrity.

Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $61,200 – $82,600 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. What will you do?

  • Retail Operations Leadership
    • Oversee daily retail operational execution across all team stores and satellite locations
    • Ensure operational standards, process compliance, process improvement, and efficiency across all retail channels
    • Partner with Store Managers to align staffing, execution, and performance goals
    • Drive operational readiness for high-volume events, playoffs, new product launches, and special programs
    • Inventory management relates to accuracy and procedures with a strong emphasis on operational controls
  • Warehouse & Inventory Management
    • Oversee Warehouse Manager and assist with warehouse operations including receiving, storage, transfers and replenishment
    • Develop scalable processes to accommodate new teams, expand product assortments, and increase volume
    • Create efficiencies across all warehouse operations that ensure inventory accuracy and operational control
    • Assist with e-commerce operations as it relates to warehouse fulfillment and execution
  • Event & Game Day Operations
    • Lead retail execution for Arena retail locations, Detroit Pistons, Detroit Red Wings, concerts and special events
    • Ensure all retail locations (Team Stores, Portables and Club/Suite level) are fully stocked
    • Oversee special event setup and teardown timelines
    • Manage POS operations and ensure functionality
    • Assist with overseeing retail vendors in terms of scheduling, planning, and overall supervision
  • Financial & Performance Accountability
    • Monitor inventory turns, sell-through rates, and operational KPIs
    • Identify operational efficiencies that reduce costs and improve margins
    • Ensure labor alignment with business demand and event schedules
    • Assist in forecasting product demand for playoffs, special events, and seasonal programs
    • Ensure strict compliance with inventory movement protocols and system accuracy
    • Manage physical inventory controls, cycle counts, and shrink mitigation
  • Marketing Strategy & Retail Activation

    • Assist director with marketing initiatives by partnering with team marketing departments and internal stakeholders to align retail programs with broader brand campaigns

    • Support development and execution of retail marketing strategies that drive merchandise sales for both e-commerce and in-venue, during games, playoffs and special
    • Help to coordinate product launches and retail promotions across in-venue signage, digital channels, and e-commerce
    • Assist in the planning and execution of exclusive merchandise drops, collaborations, and limited-edition product releases

    • Identify opportunities to increase merchandise awareness through improved product placement, in-arena promotion, and e-commerce integration 

  • Team Leadership & Development

    • Direct oversight of Warehouse Manager, Retail vendors, and operational leads/supervisor
    • Establish clear SOPs and accountability standards
    • Train and develop team members in operational best practices
    • Build bench strength to support business growth and succession planning

More about you

  • 5+ years’ retail operations, warehouse, or omni-channel management experience
  • Experience in high-volume retail or sports/entertainment environment preferred
  • Strong inventory management and systems experience (ERP systems such as NetSuite preferred)
  • Proven leadership in warehouse and fulfillment operations. Financial acumen with experience managing labor and inventory investments
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced event-driven environment

  • Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds
  • Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and walking
