Job Description

Embassy Suites Nashville Airport Actively seeking to hire a very strong, knowledgeable, and energetic Catering/Conference Service Manager to join our Sales team.

Responsibilities:

Catering/Conference Service Manager will be responsible for Catering Sales, maximizing catering revenues, meeting and exceeding targeted goals, through systematic sales strategy implementation and execution, including direct outside and inside sales, franchise lead contribution, key account development/management and penetration.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Act as onsite contact for all assigned groups, as well as working with the customer to produce BEO’s and Convention Resumes. Ensures that all special arrangements - Food and Beverage, Audio Visual, and other requests are properly documented on BEO’s and signed by authorized representative. 
  • Ensures timely distribution of all BEO’s and Resumes to the appropriate departments and follows up on any questions. 
  • Maintains detailed files, notes, records, and trace systems to ensure event meets with customer expectations. 
  • Verifies space requirements and meeting room set-up with the client, and ensures that public space needed is properly maintained and in good condition. 
  • Confirms revisions in agendas, room blocks, etc. and notifies corresponding departments in a timely manner. 
  • Finalizes the program/agenda with client and checks all scheduled functions one hour prior to start time.  
  • Reviews event sheets and works with appropriate departments to ensure quality and satisfaction. 
  • Maintains positive guest and employee relations through prompt, precise, and courteous communication. 
  • Plan, upsell and detail the meeting/function with the client including: space requirements, times, equipment, menus, themes/decorations, etc... Complete the contracts, prepare the appropriate paperwork, coordinate with the appropriate areas in the hotel, and resolve any issues, complaints and problems to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Effectively manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensures a high level of customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of a consistent ability to provide quality service
  • Previous leadership experience preferred
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Knowledge of the catering, food & beverage with banquet knowledge
  • Skills needed to manage the people and variables encountered in the development and implementation of major functions
  • Computer literate in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Computer literate
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, listening , writing)
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong customer and associate relations skills
  • Strong presentation and platform skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective decision making skills
  • Effective influence skills
  • Knowledge of Delphi FDC software preferred
