Summary

The Director of Slot Operations is responsible for, directly or through subordinate staff, delivering a gaming experience that exceeds the expectations of our diverse guests by creating a safe and exciting gaming environment. This experience includes providing an extensive selection of the newest, state of the art gaming and money handling products that are always properly operating, ensuring exceptional service to each guest, and providing a work environment that is fun and exciting. The Director of Slot Operations will also work closely with the Vice President of Slot Operations, Slot Technical Manager, Slot Operations Manager and Financial Planning and Analysis department to identify, coordinate, and implement gaming machine and policy changes, ensuring maximum machine profitability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Operates a 2,800-machine slot floor which generate over 80% of property revenue.

Supervises and directs the overall operations of the Slot Department.

Assists in establishing a department and capital budget.

Researches and negotiates master agreements with machine manufactures to ensure efficient utilization of tribal funds.

Recommends promotions and objectives for the department, including slot equipment purchases and casino layout to the Vice President of Slot Operations.

Collaborates with the Vice President of Slot Operations on gaming floor layout design.

Oversees all hiring, training, counseling, evaluating and terminating of slot team members.

Responsible for the development and implementation of all departmental training programs in the Slot Operations department.

Reviews all reports and makes recommendations from those evaluations.

Ensures that product mix, pricing and placement of slot devices are positioned, managed, and continuously evaluated for optimum performance based on performance data analytics, product innovation, industry trends and market demand

Initiates and maintains communication with subordinates, employees, management, and other departments.

Conducts competitive analysis by researching other casino properties.

Ensures compliance with all internal controls and Yocha Dehe Tribal Gaming Agency Regulations.

Communicate and actively practice the company values of respect, integrity, commitment, and humility. (R.I.C.H.)

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages 45 subordinate supervisors and managers who supervise a total of 125 employees in the Slot Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

Five years related experience in a senior casino management position; Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Prior experience in large scale casino gaming operations required. Must have proficiency in AutoCAD and advanced proficiency in slot machine analytics.

Computer Skills

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Age Requirement

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
