About this job…

The Spa Manager is responsible for the daily leadership, operations, and financial performance of the hotel’s spa and wellness facilities.  The Spa Manager reports to the Director of Spa. This role ensures exceptional guest experiences, effective team management, strong revenue generation, and strict compliance with health, safety, and brand standards.

What you’ll be doing…

Operations & Guest Experience

  • Oversee daily spa operations, including scheduling, reservations, treatment flow, and facility upkeep
  • Ensure consistently high service standards and memorable guest experiences
  • Handle guest feedback, complaints, and service recovery professionally and promptly
  • As Manager on Duty, submit daily journal of spa activities for communication with Spa Director
  • Maintain a clean, welcoming, and luxurious spa environment at all times

Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise spa therapists, technicians, and front desk staff
  • Create staff schedules ensuring optimal coverage and labor cost control
  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed
  • Foster a positive, professional, and service‑oriented team culture

Financial Management

  • Manage the spa budget, payroll/labor, inventory, and expense controls
  • Monitor KPIs including revenue, utilization, retail sales, and guest satisfaction
  • Drive retail sales through merchandising, training, and incentive programs

Marketing & Sales Support

  • Collaborate with Director of Spa and hotel sales and marketing teams on spa promotions and seasonal campaigns
  • Support group, wedding, and event spa offerings
  • In coordination with Director of Spa, analyze market trends and guest preferences to evolve treatment menus and services
  • Ensure spa menu is accurately reflected in all areas of spa and in promotions

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with state licensing, health regulations, and safety standards
  • Maintain therapist licenses, certifications, and continuing education records
  • Enforce SOPs, sanitation protocols, and emergency procedures
  • Coordinate with housekeeping for daily services and when additional support is needed

Product & Inventory Management

  • Manage inventory and vendor relationships for spa products and supplies
  • Ensure proper stock levels, product quality, and cost efficiency
  • Coordinate end of month inventory report
  • Introduce new treatments, services, and retail lines in alignment with brand standards

Requirements…

Experience & Education: 

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5 years of spa, wellness, or hotel management experience
  • Licensed esthetician, nail technician, or cosmetologist
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven financial and operational management capabilities
  • Working knowledge of spa booking and POS systems
  • Weekend and Holiday schedule availability

Preferred

  • Experience in a luxury or resort hotel environment
  • Familiarity with wellness trends, holistic therapies, and guest experience design
