Job Summary
The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and execution of the hotel’s sales, marketing, and revenue generation initiatives. This role oversees all sales segments including group, corporate, leisure, and catering, while ensuring alignment with brand standards and revenue objectives.
The Director of Sales & Marketing will lead the sales team to maximize revenue opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, drive market share, and position the hotel as a preferred destination within the competitive marketplace. This position works closely with operations, revenue management, and corporate leadership to ensure the hotel achieves its financial and market performance goals.
Physical Requirements
• Sitting: Frequently, for extended periods while working on a computer or conducting virtual meetings.
• Standing/Walking: Frequently during property tours, client meetings, networking events, and site inspections.
• Travel: Occasional travel for sales missions, trade shows, and market visits.
• Lifting/Carrying: Occasionally up to 20 lbs (marketing materials, sales collateral).
• Ability to operate standard office equipment and technology.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Revenue Strategy
• Lead and manage all sales and marketing initiatives to maximize revenue and market share.
• Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with annual budgets and forecasting goals.
• Drive group, corporate, leisure, and catering sales performance.
Team Leadership
• Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing sales professionals.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and service excellence.
Market Positioning & Business Development
• Identify new business opportunities and maintain strong relationships with key accounts.
• Represent the hotel through networking events, trade shows, and industry partnerships.
Revenue Optimization
• Work closely with revenue management to align pricing strategies with demand trends.
• Monitor market conditions, competitor performance, and industry trends.
Marketing Strategy
• Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional campaigns and brand positioning strategies.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5–7 years of progressive hotel sales leadership experience.
• Prior experience as Director of Sales or Director of Sales & Marketing preferred.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
• Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and market share.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
