# POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the Engineering and Maintenance Department while ensuring the hotel property, guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, mechanical systems, and equipment are maintained to Hilton brand standards and Driftwood Hospitality Management operational expectations.
This position supervises maintenance team members, supports preventative maintenance programs, responds to guest and operational work orders, and assists in maintaining a safe, functional, and well-maintained hotel environment for guests and team members.
The Maintenance Supervisor is expected to lead by example, maintain professionalism, support departmental accountability, and ensure all work is completed in compliance with hotel SOPs, safety procedures, and company standards.
# ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
# Leadership & Supervision
* Assist in supervising the day-to-day operations of the Engineering and Maintenance Department. * Support scheduling, task assignments, and daily workflow of maintenance staff. * Ensure team members follow hotel SOPs, safety procedures, and Hilton brand standards. * Promote professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and respectful communication within the department. * Assist with training, coaching, and development of maintenance personnel. * Maintain proper departmental communication with hotel leadership and other departments.
# PROPERTY & FACILITY MAINTENANCE
* Oversee maintenance and repairs of guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces, exterior grounds, and back-of-house areas. * Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and emergency situations. * Ensure hotel equipment and systems operate efficiently and safely. * Assist with repairs and maintenance involving:
* HVAC systems * Plumbing systems * Electrical systems * Pool equipment * Kitchen equipment * Laundry equipment * Fire and life safety systems * Door locks and key systems * Lighting systems * General carpentry and painting
# PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
* Assist in implementing and maintaining preventative maintenance programs for guestrooms and hotel equipment. * Ensure PM schedules are completed timely and accurately documented. * Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance deficiencies and safety concerns. * Support hotel renovation, repair, and capital improvement projects as assigned.
# SAFETY & COMPLIANCE
* Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, fire safety standards, and local/state codes. * Ensure safe handling and storage of tools, chemicals, and equipment. * Immediately report unsafe conditions, accidents, or incidents to hotel leadership. * Participate in emergency response procedures and on-call responsibilities when required. * Ensure proper lockout/tagout procedures are followed when applicable.
# GUEST SERVICE EXPECTATIONS
* Maintain a positive, professional, and guest-focused attitude at all times. * Respond to guest concerns with urgency and professionalism. * Support the hotel’s guest satisfaction goals and Hilton service culture. * Maintain professional appearance and conduct in guest-facing areas.
# ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
* Maintain accurate work orders, maintenance logs, and repair documentation. * Assist with inventory control and ordering of maintenance supplies and equipment. * Monitor department tools and equipment to ensure proper condition and accountability. * Support budget-conscious operations by minimizing waste and controlling expenses.
# QUALIFICATIONS
* Minimum 2 years of hotel maintenance or engineering experience preferred. * Previous supervisory experience preferred. * Strong knowledge of general maintenance trades including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems. * Ability to troubleshoot and prioritize multiple maintenance issues. * Knowledge of hotel operations and guest service standards preferred. * Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed. * Strong communication and leadership skills required.
# PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
* Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds. * Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. * Ability to use ladders, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
# WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires working throughout all areas of the hotel property, including guestrooms, rooftops, mechanical rooms, kitchens, laundry areas, pool areas, and exterior grounds.
